Weather here has been warm enough to thaw out my irrigation system. So I am checking it out. Amazingly the -19F did not break anything in the system. All the valves seem in order. I have a few lines exposed where I was relaying them before the hard freeze. They need foam pipe insulators. And then covered with some garden soil. I will be installing them today.

I need the system to function for the small pond in our bird sanctuary. It has a natural bottom so we must add about 30 gallons a day to keep it full and fresh.

Amazingly as I was working about the pond, the fish came out for a feeding. After -19F and below zero for 5 nights I thought surely, they would be dead. School of about 35 @ 2.0" goldfish.

Insanely, incredibly busy day here.
Had two appointments scheduled in Defiance, I always do my dental and chiropractic appointments as close to the other as possible.
I had just left Dr. Lorenz's office (chiropractor) on my way back here to Napoleon, got a text from Granddaughter Elaina's school saying she's sick and needs picked up, I'm the third emergency contact aside from my son Ty and his fiancee Felicia, because her "mother" isn't present.
Ty was in Michigan on a tow run, Felicia had her phone off and it was in her office at Ollie's Warehouse where she is the manager, so I went shooting off to the school and picked her up.
I finally got ahold of Felicia and she left work early to get home.
Then work texts: covid in the facility again.
Yay! 😩
Like an idiot I picked up tomorrow night third shift.
Ugh.
I swear it's always something.

Today is mylast day "Off" for a while. We are running a packaging contract at the troy MO printer to whom I sold a machine.
I'll be working 6:00AM to 4:30 PM for the next two weeks.

After that we are converting it to wrapping paper spoons, for European Markets, in compostable paper. No adhesives allowed. To our knowledge, no one has been able to do it. The green planet thingy is a PIA.

And to think, I could have been an engineer at Boeing designing faulty exit doors.

Didn't do a lot today.

But I am trying to get my foot to flex after surgery. Doctor said I need to do that. Walked SLOWLY on the treadmill for about 25 minutes. So yes, my foot hurts. Went to the store. Went to the fencing club.

I'm also very sore, whole body arthritis sore. I've been approved to get Enbrel injections. In fact they were already delivered, but I have to wait until the Cimzia, which is not working for me, clears out of my system. So I can't start Enbrel until NEXT WEEK. Took a tramadol and 2 ibuprofen at the fencing club tonight, sat for about 30 minutes, hoping the drugs would kick in, no real relief so I left the club and came home. Still waiting for some relief. Probably should have not waited so long to take the pain killers.

School runs again today. Nothing exciting. I make 2 trips a day 3 days a week into the city to drop off and pick up my daughter from school. She's in a specialized school without bussing available. One of those "lesser of two evils" scenarios. She has a hard time focusing on tasks and was falling further behind which resulted in her basically giving up and skipping all the time. So it's either she attends regular school and fails and is in summer school again this summer. Or she does this program working on booklets and focusing on one course at a time. She started in November and has already completed one credit and is half done another.

Way less stress on us and all we have to do is drive her in and pick her up.

Between school runs, I usually come back home for 3 hours. Today, I have to do a 1.5hr round trip to the border to pick up packages that have been waiting.

Sitting at work waiting for the operator's to come for training, thankfully it's my last 3 day work week switching to 2 days a week )my choice ( my project is done but management isn't making the employees use the maintenance program properly I put the data in for the last year 🙁
So I agreed to 3 months extension 2 days a week I'm not holding my breath that they will follow through, it's their loss.

Paying bills

Trying to get back to a low calorie diet

Probably driving to Purdue tonight to coach them, I'm undecided, sometimes I go on Thursday, sometimes not

If I get more motivated I will get in a light exercise, foot still hurts when I walk, shoulder muscle tear is re-aggrivated, so I have 2 de-motivating factors that induce pain

Unloading cardboard and extra 2x4s that are in the truck from yesterday's closet project at Melen's condo. Cleaning the carpet cleaner, Melen borrowed it, I'm betting she didn't clean it. It came home in the truck yesterday. Also putting away the power tools that I brought home from Melen's closet project yesterday too.

Suffering from extreme jaw pain on the right side of my face. I must have been really drunk because I do not remember the fight.
Not one bit of it.

Apparently, Crumpy throws a mean left hook. I have no other explanation for it except, perhaps, an extension of an ear infection.

Right now I I can barely open my mouth for an aspirin. However, I'll bet I can get some Single malt to go down.

Poor baby. ☺️

Well I'm going to be leaving for Purdue in about an hour to get to fencing practice.

Still don't know why practices are 9pm to Midnight. But we do have fun, and I listen to podcasts and/or audiobooks on my drives to/from campus. I would prefer 8pm to 11pm practices. That 1 hour difference would be much more convenient. Sadly I have zero sway over the schedule of the facility coordinator or their scheduling of other sports. We are a club level, not a varsity level sport, so despite the fact that we have a great facility for practices, we play 2nd fiddle in the schedule.

It's Friday. I don't have to go anywhere today. Depending on how mobile my back allows me to get, I may head to the garage to change out the coils and plugs on my truck. It's due. Occasionally it will start missing when I accelerate hard in a passing scenario. 185000km on it. It's due.

Last night, the best I could do was some beef broth. And some gin.

My jaw seemed better today so I made a big bowl of oatmeal and fruit. Two bites in and the jaw pain returned.
I've been forcing small bits of food in for over an hour. Still half a bowl to go.
I guess I'll be losing some weight, a good thing, yes?

Success. First attempt to change the plugs and coils was 1.5hrs. Not bad. Then had to mess with a couple of coils that weren't making contact but it's running 100%. Of course it's above freezing and everything is a melting mess which meant water ontop of ice and you know what comes next. The neighbors learnt a new vocabulary and I now have a huge bruise on my a$$ from slipping and landing hard on it. 🤬

I then hobbled my sore butt to my wife's expedition and swapped out the headlights for led's. I did mine last week. Much better at night as the salt and sand combination they've been using leaves a thick layer of mud on everything including the headlights.

I didn't do shit today!! And same thing tomorrow! I woke up at 11 am today and then got on the computer/smartphone. I had Campbell's tomato soup for dinner with oyster crackers and this is the smallest dinner I've ever had. Tryin to lose weight!
I lost a bunch of weight, then got injured a couple times, got sick, surgery, blah blah blah so ended up gaining about 1/2 of what I lost back. I'm holding stead but still recovering from a shoulder injury and foot surgery, so basically I'm not as active as I should be. I've getting on the treadmill, just to walk a couple times, but the foot injury keeps my pace slow. Better than sitting in a chair. I'd like to get my weight back down into the mid-170's again. I'm hovering in the 188-190 pound range now but I was 205#.

We are so alike here. I was 205 lbs. I got it down to 195 by dieting. But then I caught the first COVID.

Took me to185.
I went back to 190
Second COVID took me to170.
Back To 190
Third time to180
I held180 for almost a year bumping 185 from time to time.

Then I caught the latest version. And to my surprise gained weight.
195 lbs after Christmas. (maybe) it was the cookies and pies I got in Leo's bakery for fixing their packaging line.

Today I am at 188-190 and going down. Slowly.

I want to hit 180 lbs at the very least. By my birthday March 9th.

BTW MD post 2724 has a very lovely lady. Boy, has she grown into a beautiful person.
You, not so much

Lazy day today. My back finally just started feeling better slightly yesterday then I went out and slipped on ice down by the garage landing hard on my left hip. Few scratches on my arm as well. I hobbled around finishing up what I was doing and by the evening could barely stand on my hip. It's thankfully a little better today. I would share a picture but I don't imagine anyone here wants to see my bruised butt. 🙃
