This afternoon is our works Christmas party.
I'll be eating lots of delicious food, then regretting it later (not!)
Hmmm I wonder if I'll win a TV in the drawing again this year, so I can give it away as a gift?

I drove our oldest daughter in to school then went to pick up a buddy of mine from camp and went to visit our other friend from camp who's laying in a hospital bed dying of throat cancer. 
He can no longer eat or drink. His feeding tube is being rejected and they're pumping him with morphine. He had the same greenish skin color as my grandmother about 2 weeks before she passed.

Well I'm stuck at home, foot bandaged and elevated, with an ice pack.
But the lovely Mrs_Bob, Kobe and aunt Amie managed to sneak aboard the POLAR EXPRESS train to the North Pole to visit with Santa. Clearly magic is real. Belief is a thing that can only be described by faith, which is pretty much a circular argument.
This is pure joy.

Hung around all morning working on the baseboard trim in the new kitchen until the cabinet guys arrived to finish installing the doors. Went to physio this afternoon in the city then came home to get organized and take two of the dogs and the kids to the trainer. Then to our final scout meeting before Christmas. Afterwards I went to pick up the new hood for my son's vehicle that I ordered. Proof that you can get anything on Amazon. The quote I got locally from the scrap yard was $590 for a primed hood. I ordered the exact same thing from the same supplier for 441.

Just found out a former coworker of mine and his wife were killed in a head on collision. An oncoming pick-up was passing a transport and clipped the front end pulling back in sending it into a spin head on into their truck. She was killed on impact. He apparently died in icu. Sad day.

So approximately 40 days ago I got Covid.
It was very mild by comparison with what most people tell me they experienced.
But I have a nagging cough and head congestion. Started coughing a day or two after Thanksgiving. Head has been on/off congested the entire time too. Worse now than it was a week ago.
So literally for 40ish days I have a freaking annoying mild head cold and a cough for the past 30 days. Talked to several doctors, anesthesiologist, etc pre-surgery and everyone says "yup" but no solution to getting rid of it. One described it as a 100 day cough.
Nobody seemed worried about.
But it is annoying as all hell.
WTF? Is the part of covid? Or did I just get lucky and get some other B.S. after covid?

I have the exact same symptoms. Since mid December.
With a twist. At least twice a day I get a spontaneous nosebleed. Annoying as hell.

When I got it the last time, I had a plugged head with hard mucus for a month that I finally got out with nasal spray, lots of it. I went to the mountains during that time for a turn around trip, the next day I had a sinus headache that made all my teeth hurt too, that lasted for days until I used the nasal spray.

One of those days of running like mad. My wife is off this week for Christmas so she was on a last minute shopping run while I drove our oldest daughter to her schooling program. One day a week, they have a land based learning portion. This week, they were out at a ranch 20km west of here. I had to turn around an hour later and drive back to get her. Out in the woods down back country roads. Then dropped her off at home and headed to the city 15 minutes away for an appointment at the bank to renew our mortgage. Back home for supper then back to the city for our other daughter's musical performance at school. All the while trying to prepare the house for guests coming for dinner tomorrow.
Today is the day I do all my Christmas shopping, in one trip

K...you win the internet for today.
Doing some last minute cleanup before the holidays. We'd been saying for years that we would organize the Christmas decoration storage totes so while the missus and one of the girls are out grocery shopping, I decided to organize and consolidate 12 totes down into 5 all sorted and labeled. Plus vacuumed the whole upstairs. That should earn me a 5 minute beer break later this afternoon.
I did that last year? Or 2 years ago? She bought more stuff, we are back to 12 totes here.
I strongly suggest you go hide some of those reclaimed totes, somewhere dark where your wife will never see them. Somehow empty totes seem to get refilled.

Same. Friends coming tonight. Friends and family Christmas day here. Boxing day party aka "friendsmass" at a friend's house. Then a couple day break before a new year's eve gathering here. I concentrated on decluttering all of the storage bins for the decorations. I've got an enclosed 6x12 trailer sitting there empty so this morning I hauled it up to the house and tossed it all in there as it won't be used over the next few weeks.

Today another man from my church and I took an 84 year old lady to her home 50 miles away to get some clean clothes and other stuff at her home because she's been staying in the hospital here with her husband, who has cancer. Bless her heart! They've been married 64 years. And that's about all I did.

My son Jeff has covid so he had to cancel going to PA to be with my eldest Granddaughter Kasey.
Ty got dispatched to a wreck late tonight on the Indiana border/Hicksville Ohio, took him 50 minutes to get there because of the fog, so them going to the rental in south Carolina isn't going to happen unless they can make it by late tomorrow night (doubt it)
I'm working tomorrow night/ double time pay.
Sitting here feeling sorry for myself AND them, then I got this picture of my Maddie.
Being a loved Mother and Grandma makes everything better.

After spending the last three weeks getting our messy house in order for 17 people at Christmas dinner, we got cancelations yesterday and today. Only three showed up. So, only seven, including the wife and I and our kids.

Our Christmas Eve family supper hosting 30 or 40 people are long gone. They died with COVID. This year there will be 5 of us and 3 kids. Much as I enjoyed the old days, these days are much easier and quieter.
