What are you doing today, II

I get back nerve ablation tomorrw to help my back pain its been 3 months getting here i just hope it works so i get some decent sleep!
I'm home and back feels good now (might be the drugs talking) but during the 3 ablations made my leg twitch think of scratching a dogs belly and back leg go's nuts
The pain during the ablatition was just as bad as the 2 tests to see what nerves to block.

What a day. I failed my colonoscopy. Prep did not do the job. Only drank 64oz instead of the 128oz. So i have to do it all over again.
Then get home an have a gas line leak. We have our own well an gas so i am the gas man. Had to find the leak an repair. Ended up getting close to where the leak was an just replaced 60 ft of the line. No more gas smell an we have gas at the house again. All good.

Just tested POSITIVE for Covid

This is my first time with it. I was achy over the weekend. Really achy on Monday and Tuesday. I assumed it was arthritis aches and pains. Then 3 year old foster son Kobe tested positive yesterday. Now I did. So the Terrorist Toddler gave me the China flu.

Good grief, Bob.
At least covid is now relatively mild compared to what it once was.
I know of some people who have recently tested positive. It's like the flu, a cold etc..
And just as with influenza, precautions and all the rest.
Take care.

PG is correct, I had the Delta version in 2021, the wife was in the hospital for 2 weeks and almost died. I was sick for 3 weeks with 0 energy, headache, body aches, sweating without a fever and a weird anxiety feeling, then was fatigued for a couple months afterward.
This passed August I got the latest version and have the flu in the passed much worse. Same kinda symptoms but very mild and I was good to go in 10 days. This strain should be a cake walk for you, just stay hydrated.

I'm pretty much just resting today. I want to finish the trim on the 2 stained glass windows in the living room. That would totally complete that project. But I need to varnish the trim wood first. I have some 1x8 cherry pieces that will be used as baseboards, those also need varnish. The lovely Mrs_Bob pretty much confined me to the master bedroom suite

Mostly I have a mild headache and head congestion/head cold symptoms. The body aches and pains are pretty dramatically reduced today. They were pretty bad yesterday. Honestly I had no clue I had Covid until last night. When I went to bed (at 9pm) I was just sore, everywhere.

But about 10pm I started to get very cold, 4 blankets and still cold. Close to midnight I was burning up, sweating, etc. At this point I honestly figured that it was Covid. Today I woke up with the head cold symptoms.

Doctor's office said to treat with OTC cold meds, ibuprofen, etc. I asked about Paxolvid (sp?) and the nurse said she would check with the doctor and get back to me, but didn't seem very concerned.

Felt fine last evening. Feeling fine this morning. Just my 'normal' morning issues from waking up. Last dayquil was after lunch yesterday. 5 days of isolation and I will be a free man.

I've already varnished the last of the woodwork for the window trim and the new baseboards for the bookshelves.

Totally worth shutting down the world for two years, losing our rights and putting 40% of small business out of business for. Happy your better.

How did it go?

No rona here but the wife is off to emerge with our youngest son who had his finger slammed in a door yesterday evening at a youth group. Finger nail is partially ripped off. She was there last night with him. They taped it after x-rays and determined that the tip under the nail has a bone fracture. It was bleeding throughout the night and he woke up covered in dried blood. He's 14.

Meanwhile, I was busy in the garage yesterday building stuff. First, I had all of the materials sitting in the garage already except for a piece of oak trim so I built a frame out of 2x4s and covered it in 1/4 oak paneling to build a base to lift up our bar fridge. We keep it locked with 5 teens in the house and the locking mechanism is at the bottom.

Next, friends of ours mentioned that they didn't have anywhere to hang their stockings for their kids and grandchildren. I built this out of barn board.

Since Bob and his wife tested positive for covid, I read through the entire covid thread here - from the time the pandemic began until recent times.
We all sure went through it together!
I was near tears and even laughed about some things.
Hopefully those days are gone for good.

Well, I had the Covid about 2 years ago. Had fever for a couple of days and chills. Got pretty weak too. I only have 2 left over symptoms. I have no sense of taste or smell. I have discovered that might not be too bad. The upside is that I can eat Spam and if I close my eyes, I can think I am having a ribeye steak!! If I want a tender loin, I just eat balony. Life is good!!!!!

Using two 60" leftover pieces of cedar fence, I will be building a garden shed.
It will be built into the existing cedar fence @ 8 feet by 5 feet X5 feet high.
I will add two feet to the height, and later, a roof.
All on top of a 5' X 8' pine deck.

The 96 foot of fence sits atop a retaining wall, freestanding, and has no posts in the ground. So, every 24 feet, I have a buttress wall keeping it upright. The shed will be one of those walls. The others demise areas of the south gardens.

Pictures when completed.

Well we both have 'mild head cold' symptoms. So while I feel pretty good, I'm clearly not "done" with the wu-flu. The lovely Mrs_Bob has a mild headache in addition to the head cold.

I did manage to cut some trim boards and haul myself up the ladder to finish trimming out the final two stained glass windows. So that project is now officially completed (I even put the ladder and tools away)

Carpet guy (another friend) is coming tomorrow measure for the library area since that needs to be redone. Honestly not worried about spreading covid to him at this point. Fever has been gone since Tuesday. I'm not planning to kiss him or have other close contact. He's going to measure, drop off some sample books and leave. Shouldn't take more than 15 minutes and if he wants me to wear a mask I will do that for him.

Getting ready to go to camp for Pa bear season starts tomorrow!

My back is hurting from loading the truck but I haven’t had the knife in the back pain like before the ablation, they did say it could take 5-6 weeks for full improvement its only 4 days. I questioned them about what to do about bulge in disk they said talk to your dr about referral but don’t be to anchusas about getting surgery it might heal on its own give it time.

I tested negative the last time around in 5 days.

Finger tip injuries are painful, lots of nerves there

Went with my friend Jules and her son Ben to Bowling Green to get her new Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, at the Thayer dealership.
I hope she likes it. You gotta practically jump to get inside lol
I was starving when I got home, so I threw a pizza in the oven, a frozen ready to eat pizza.
I usually eat healthy, but I have my moments.
Like buying baklava and saying to hell with it!
Lol

So, ran into anissue. I only have one 60" section left. So i have to buy a new one.
Three years ago they were $80.00 each and Gates were $70 each. So, my project was at a cost of $140.00 for two 36" gates.

However, now I must buy a full section at $106.00 plus two gates at $111.00 each. Total cost before screws and hinges,,,; $328.00 plus 6% sales tax. About $348.00.

So, with hardware, about $400.00 or more than double my budget. I will get the fence panel. The gates will have to wait.

Thank you President Biden.

The companies that pay the wages will dry up and blow away. The ones that employ robotic vending wil not. Then there will be very few entry level/ summer jobs for kids starting out.
However, those kids were educated to believe the Gubmit, and our society, owes them a living equal to those who earned one.

the sex allure of robotic burger flippers will wear off right soon. a totally automated line that does every from getting patties from the freezer to wrapping the burger and putting it on a shelf ,,,, is all possible (today, even) but the fast food joint will need to be about three times bigger. if the bot system does not do everything from freezer to shelf, a person is required to feed the machine.

and the same bot line is not going to multi-task and do Egg McMuffins with/without sausage, and french fries, and onion rings, and all the other misc. food items sold....

and the tech - who has to be on hand during all open hours - is not going to work for $20/hr. and that's after the company/franchise pays for 3-6 months schooling & training.

and then they'll need a cleaning crew for the machine line . . .
