What are you doing today, II

Honestly, I've had two BMWs. And I would seriously catch myself not using the blinkers. It's no joke. Something about those cars turns off the need to use blinkers. I can't explain it.
Am now BMW-free.

I noticed that driving my son's cars.
BMW. I hate driving them. Far too many gadgets and some that don't have the same controls as most other makes.

I feel the same way about BMW's. My son owns two and I will not touch them.

However, I still own a Mercedes product. A Chrysler Crossfire, which is pure Mercedes corrupted only by a hood badge that says Chrysler. Oddly enough, no Chrysler dealer should ever come close to one, and they don't. And most Mercedes dealers will not let me on the lot.
BMW, I do a little work on,

Just wait until you have to do $2.00 oil seal between the block and the alternator bracket on an X5 4.8is. And any head work on the same. You'll never work on a BMW v8 again.

That church member's niece, she was happy I fixed it right with hers. First her boyfriend putting in the wrong brand spark plugs with too much Anti seize on them and the new coil was no good. I put in what brand it calls for, Denso and a new OEM denso coil. It ran like a watch after that and she said her boyfriend is not going to work on her car ever again. Plus she knows where to go getting her car fixed at if in town now, me. Saw I was honest and did not rip her off not replacing parts that did not need to be replaced

Drinking a beer since it is after working hours. I keep a good amount of Busch Beer in the refrigerator of my office in my shop. Once I open it up and take a sip off that, no more working on customer's vehicles. Keep a couple bottles of Jim Beam in there too having Coca Cola in the fridge making me a mixed drink once in a while. Same with this too, done working on customer's vehicles after working hours

Nothing I had planned.

Sister-in-Law was on the far north side of Chicago staying with some friends after dinner and a play and in the middle of the night her heart went into A-Fib. Her friends took her into the hospital.

We had Kobe here and he was scheduled for a pediatric pulmonologist appointment 3 hours SOUTH of here.

So we met his grandma at a McDonalds at 6:30am at an interstate exchange along I-65, she took him south to Indianapolis, we headed north Chicago.

Long story short, she had a-fib and also an infection and also pnuemonia. Fortunately she arrived at the hospital emergency room shortly before it filled up with the normal daily drug addicts, homeless and illegals so she only had to wait a short while to get into a bed in the emergency room. Her heart had returned to normal rhythm by that point, she was treated for everything else, released JUST BEFORE THE HEAVY TRAFFIC hit the roadways and I just got home in her car. The lovely Mrs_Bob and her sister are stopping for medicines at the pharmacy on their way and should be home shortly.

I might go to fencing tonight? Then again, I might go to bed early instead.

Found out dad was put in Hospice today, It has been tough for my mom,4 brothers and I going through this with his Alzheimer's diagnosis since 4 years ago. He is in the downhill stages of it and hopefully we can celebrate his 81st birthday on Saturday for the last time

Fresh 2" of snowfall today, on top of the existing snow base, so I ran the snowblower to get a path out to the workshop. Fired up the tractor and plowed snow out of both driveways. Roughly 10(F) degrees outside but only a slight breeze. Sitting inside with a hot cup of coffee and debating what to do next.

I put a pork butt in the slow cooker last night at bedtime. We have plenty of apple-bourbon-sweet pepper flavored pulled pork ready now. It has just the right amount of kick to it, but sweet and tender. Figured with the S-I-L having pneumonia and now temporarily staying at our house, the lovely Mrs_Bob has her hands full so she doesn't need to worry about cooking for today.

We cancelled our birthday dinner reservations with Melen tonight in Chicago. So I could drive south to coach the Purdue University fencing practice. Or I could drive north, and only 1/2 the distance, and coach the high school fencing practice and still be home in time for a late dinner at the house. Or I could take a "vacation day" from fencing, blame slippery road conditions, and sit by the fire . . . and if not for me giving up alcohol for the month of January, sitting by the fire with a bourbon on an evening where the temps are supposed to continue to drop actually would be a fine choice.

So not sure what to do. I'm leaning at just going to the high school for practice.

If not for the sloppy roads, I'd go up to Home Depot and pick up some 1x2 poplar for a project at the house, but I really don't want slush and salt spray all over the wood that I need to finish.

I've got a yard full of snow to clear and two broken plows. I was waiting for a new pump motor to arrive for the big plow. It came in yesterday but, I'm not in a hurry to do it at -29C windchill when it's going to be -4C tomorrow. We have about 6" from a storm that ended yesterday afternoon but a it's so light and fluffy a good fart could probably clear a path. So I'm just relaxing my sore back after hiking 3km in the dark with my scouts troop last night.

A leaf blower is your friend. ;) I love my battery operated one but the battery life sucks in these temps. I pull out the Stihl backpack and can clear anything.

Had a talk with a customer's 17 year old daughter and I did get to her a little bit which will be one step at a time with her. Found out she was hanging with the wrong people thinking they are good friends and are not. Told her I was like that and realized I was going in the wrong path of life, thinking things over after I turned 18. Explained to her there was that road getting her to no where heading in the wrong direction more and the one thinking things over changing her life around in the right direction in life.

Sounds like you would be great to have a talk with our adopted 18 yr old daughter. Same scenario. Already going to an alternative school to complete her high school one course at a time. Had a melt down last Tuesday because we told her we weren't going to drive her anymore to see her friends if she didn't keep her room cleaned and change her attitude. She blew up and left. We basically told her don't come home until she changes her attitude. My wife is going to meet her now in the city as she's been couch surfing for a week with no money whatsoever.

Sitting here feeling like I got shot at missed and shit at and hit slept off and on this morning.
I went to the pool yesterday for aerobics seemed ok yesterday last night it hasn't got above 23 deg today I'm sure that's not helping.
The cold I went to Dr. last thursday isn't much better my back killing me (could be too much time in bed / cold) .
I ran out of steroids this morning still have a week of antibiotic to do yet.

Mom was on me a lot and knew I had to change. One change was deciding I wanted to do something in my life,I feel the Marines changed my life around in a good way learning discipline and respect.

I feel a lot better today.
I'm not sure what I had, but I kicked it's ass.
Good thing because I'm due back at work on Friday.. night shift.
We got maybe 2" of new snow today, aside from what was already on the ground.
Deep chill coming soon to Ohio.🥶
Glad you are feeling better . . .

It has been hovering between 7(F) and 10(F) here all day. You should have our temps by tomorrow morning.

Had to get my youngest older brother's truck to my place tonight, fuel pump module died in his 2006 F150 which I will have to order tomorrow morning and replace it. Also replace the left front wheel bearing, lot of play from it. He is one that ignores some things getting worse and I told him that it needs to stop

I just had the fuel pump, power steering pump and hoses and starter changed on our old 2006 gmc sierra 1500hd 6l 4x4. It's seen salt and little maintenance before we picked it up 3 yrs ago to replace the old f150 plow truck after the tranny let go. I just got it back from the shop last week but hadn't reinstalled the plow yet as last summer I had a main positive cable from the battery to the starter shorting out rubbing on the frame. That burnt out the lift motor on the plow. The new one came in 2 days ago but I wasn't in a rush to install it at -29 windchill this week. The outside temperature is warming up today to -4 so that's the tentative plan for today. Reinstall the plow and new lift motor on the pump. That, and finish plowing as I was using the sxs and small plow the other day and the winch gears let go to lift it. I have a new one ordered Amazon. The cheapest local one was over $300 and I would have to drive 25 minutes to get it. Amazon had one for $168 delivered to my house in the country.

Seen my dad and doctors said not very long for him to go. I probably will not work on Friday for this reason, do see he wants to go by the look on his eyes. Plus my cousin Lester was there whom I do not get along with, we are like oil and water. I wanted to smack him and knew not to do it ,gave me a nasty gesture. Mom, she seen it happened told me not to do it.

I cannot do thing to get him charged now, statue of limitations. Should of pushed it more, did and the prosecutor said there is nothing they could do about it
There is no statute of limitations on your memory of the event. So, kick him in the balls. Guys like that are chicken sh!t. And he is an old man now. He'll never know what hit him.
