Here in Valley Springs its been in the 70's, The cabin got its first dusting of snow. This year promises to be like the last, there will be 10' up there by Christmas.

Will someone please buy mother nature some flowers. It's currently +7 Celsius and pouring rain on Christmas eve in northwestern Ontario Canada. I am used to -25 and at least 2 ft of snow at Christmas. And the long range forecast has above freezing temperatures during the day for the next two weeks with no snow.

It's pouring rain on East Texas too. It's supposed to quit this afternoon though, so Santa won't get soaked tonight.

Unseasonably warm. Highs in the sixties.

No White Christmas here. But then, this is St. Louis. We get one about every ten years or so.
I cannot remember the last time we had a White Christmas.

The one I do remember was in 1967. The day I met my wife, aka Crumpy. Pure as the driven snow on the ground that day, and so was she. (y)

Look at the bright side. Lol. I wasn't able to grade our road this fall before freeze up and it was full of potholes. Since I have it repaired and fully operational, I fired it up and graded the roughly 700ft of driveway to smooth it out before temperatures drop again.

Its 60% F outside tonite.

Its Christmas Eve.
The moon is full, with partly cloudy skies.
Santa will be flying over, and Crumpy and I will be searching those skies to see if reindeer really do know how to fly.

So, we will be having coffees on the patio with a small fire.

New high temp record for us. 56(F) degrees a couple hours ago. Last high temp record was in 1930 and that was below 50(F). It is 53(F) now and we had the patio door in the kitchen open to cool off from all the cooking.

Since Christmas night, temperatures between 32%F and 40%F.
Some snow on Tuesday that made the lawns white for a time.
Slow rainy drizzle and big snowflakes. We call it "snizzle."
So, it has been snizzling for the last three days.
One more day of it today.

We have had the rain for days.
Today we have snow flakes in the air. Small flakes. Very light. Not enough to cover anything. Better than rain.

34(F) at the moment, but temps are supposed to drop to a high of 0(F) in about 30 hours.

We have light snow falling now. Apparently we are in a "lull" in the storm, supposed to be getting another round of snow, but that is predicted to be lighter as the temperature falls.

I just came back from doing some serious snow moving. Got about 4" of snow. BUT IT IS HEAVY AND WET SNOW. My little push snowblower had trouble tossing the wet snow 18".

The diesel Bobcat utility tractor had no issues with the PTO mounted blower clearing out 3 driveways. But the discharge chute clogged on the 4th driveway forcing me to finish with the front loader to push the snow off the asphalt.

A pleasant 35%F
Then 04%F
UGH!

It was supposed to be snow changing to all rain this morning, but the snow kept coming, the roads turned to crap, the temps didn't warm up quite as much as predicted, so we've had people in ditches, flipped over on their roof etc..
And Ty is out with the wrecker.
Probably for the rest of the night.

SR 108 this afternoon.
It's slushy, messy, frozen crap.

Earlier today we had a lot of jacknife and vehicle in ditch problems, but then the temps rose and we switched from heavy snow to rain.

Still rain now, still above freezing here. About 1/2 the snow we got is now melted. There is flooding in the fields now. We are supposed to go to a high of ZERO (F) so we will probably see some flash flooding cause by frozen ditch and small river spots that overflow.

I'm just hoping the roads drain off enough before the hard freeze that travel is not a problem.

Day one of a two-day blizzard here. 10: of new snow and 30 to 50 MPH winds. There is no one on the roads. Snowplows
are not being used until tomorrow. Two snowplow trucks collided about 30miles North of here today. Not a good day.
Single digit temps will give way to below zero temps for 3 days after the snow and wind stop. I saw a -25 overnight temp predicted. :snow2_smi

Kirk, it's the same way here is Spencer.

Raining now in the Grand Canyon of Pennsylania 35 degrees calling for 2-5 inches of SNOW  over night tonight.
It's not fun fun for my ageing back last wet snow storm I used the loader on my tractor and out a few diviots in the lawn I might have to look for a plow to go on my tractor.

The pounding winds are my only concern right now.
They're starting to howl.
Toledo weather stations saying sustained only on the Lakeshore.
Coulda fooled me.
This is all a part of the extreme cold coming and to last for a week.
I hate this time of year.

Trying to text my boy but he's not responding.
Last time I did that he replied "you DO know the weather situation Mom, I'm working here!" 🙃
I should stop being "that Mother" and shut up.

Yes but, it's the genes inherent every good mom. He's lucky to have one of them. (y)

I'm betting he knows that.
