What are you doing today, II

My beautiful, awesome Landlady Rose Gerken had Thanksgiving dinners delivered to all of us in the apartment complex earlier.
From her church.
She knows my son Jeff pretty well by now, so had one for him too.
I sure did appreciate that, so did he. ☺️
I put his back in the fridge for tomorrow or whenever he can make it up here because he's been pretty busy lately.
I love nice people ❤️

Someone sped down our road, hit the neighbor's pet baby goat and killed it. Leaving it dead on the road. I carried it home to the neighbor's but they were not home. Left them their dead goat and left them a note. Our street has about 30 homes spread across 2 miles. One way in and out. We also have a facebook page so I wrote a nasty message to the idiot who killed the little goat. There were 2 baby goats and they always played there, cute as heck to watch, sometimes we'd stop the car just to watch them playing in the field or along the roadway. I'm kind of pissed off now.

I'm back from Hippioe Ridge. It was cold there. Nights in the low 20's.

I got a lot done. Buried 40 feet of a 100-foot #4 cable four lead for the big Bungalow-townhouse RV. Unfortunately, the electric box for the 50 Amp circuit was not as advertised. Whilst I did make it work temporarily; it blew in the middle of the night. So that building is back on 30 amps.

Chinees Crap.

I'll go with standard stuff next weekend.

We put 1.0" Styrofoam down to underskirt the 40 foot X eight foot Bungalow. We completed all but the very front. I say we but Crunpy did most of the hard work. I put stabilizers under the unit so that it doesn't bounce when you walk thru it.

For the record, my son cooked three great meals whilst we were there. No turkey but still a great family Thanksgiving.

Came home to snow! A surprise for St. Louis this early in the winter. 3.0 inches of the wet stuff for making good snow men..

Nothing like the northeast is getting, but enough in which the kiddies to play

Everyone is in the field, so I had to work in the shop today, rolled some 16 gauge galvanized sheet metal into 2- 10” X 4’ ducts welded it all together and made a 45 degree elbow on the end.

It's a snow day. It snowed all weekend then changed to rain yesterday turning 12 inches of light fluffy stuff into 4 inches of ice. It started last night. Busses are canceled. My wife stayed home from work. I drove my daughter in to the city for a dentist appointment. We're going to be canceling scouts tonight due to the weather. It snowed maybe 8" overnight and not supposed to let up until tonight.

The drive in to the city was interesting. The roads were snow covered with near whiteout conditions. We made it though. I've had a loose tooth that's been bugging me for a while. I broke my jaw at age 5 and had a crooked tooth. It finally decided to let go and was barely hanging on so the dentist had a referral to a specialist to yank it. Over the weekend, it became very loose. So they got me in without any notice to pull it.

Yesterday the lovely Mrs_Bob was diagnosed with Pneumonia.
Today I was diagnosed with an upper respiratory infection.
Fun times.

We've had a cold lingering around for months that comes and goes. My wife has asthma and has been coughing for a month at least. She's been through a round of antibiotics already which didn't help. She just went to the walk in clinic and got a stronger dose of antibiotics and a different puffer. Hope you both feel better soon.

Must be somthing in the air, I laid around all day from suspected food poisoning from a burger I had at a resturaunt yesterday while in the field, about 4 pm yesterday is when I started feeling it.

I went out to a local restaurant/pub - Spengler's downtown for a birthday lunch with some friends from work earlier today.
Good time and great food.
That place is always so loud, I was glad to leave 🙃
Then! I decided to go to Walmart to do a bit of grocery shopping.
This young guy, maybe in his 20s approached me coming out of an aisle with two jars of spaghetti sauce.
He raised one over his head and said look out. He looked either drunk, or high on something OR maybe he had some sort of behavioral disorder.
I was about to ask him if he was OK, then this other guy yelled at him asking him what he was doing.
I went up to the service desk and told them what had just happened, because you cannot find a security person in Walmart at all.
Hopefully they found him.
I felt bad for the kid, honestly - but you never know about people these days.

I've been busy with my scouts troop this past week. Last Sunday we worked a Pancake breakfast as we do every month. Last night, we has a sleepover pizza party. We do this every year before Christmas. Last night I slept in a church entrance beside an elevator shaft. 🥱

Covid - negative
RSA - negative
enlarged heart - negative
fluid in lungs - negative
influenza a - negative
influenza b - negative

So a lot of negativity in my life.

Went to the doctor AGAIN on Friday. Got a stronger anti-biotic and strong cough meds. I seemed to get worse after my Tuesday doctor visit.

Hoping to rejoin the living today? I'm still coughing. But a bit less. Slept better. I won't say well. But better, less waking up to cough.

Lovely Mrs_Bob seems to have bounced back, obviously still sick, but has been decorating the home for the holidays.

Last day here too for deer hunting. I didn't get to the blind. Oh well. Didn't get a deer this year but learned allot about deer hunting and am fully prepared now for next year.

We went to church this morning and had my new replacement wedding ring blessed. I zapped my finger in the spring arching battery posts together accidentally. It took all summer to heal.

This afternoon I picked up a plow for the sxs. A local store had them on sale and I was going to buy one but found one basically brand new same make and model as the one on sale.

I still feel semi-crappy.

Literally spend Tuesday thru Sunday in bed or an ez-chair. Only time I got out was to go back to the doctor on Friday for new meds. Cancelled my afternoon fencing class today. Drove to the bank and back home. That may be my entire adventure for the day? I might go to he fencing club this evening, but just to drop off some equipment that people ordered as gifts for their kids, all the shipments for the club come to my home address so its all here.

Still coughing. Not getting a lot of rest, because coughing wakes me up. No fever. No aches. No pains. But runny nose, post nasal drip, and coughing.

Recovering from Saturday & yesterday. Mostly Saturday where in I was working on the small closets in the loft office area of the house. These are small "rooms" where the roof is low. 4'X4'x4' cubicles. Fine for storage but really hard to fit this old 6'1" frame into and do any work. Pieces of foam insulation and some paneling.

Outside I finished the lights for this season. I cut down a 45-year-old Mugule pine to reveal a 12-foot-high Holly tree inside. The Holly tree was spontaneous. But despite being inside the pine tree, it had an excellent shape.

And chopped firewood.

These activities were easy a few years ago. I don't remember being this sore afterwards in my younger years.

I think that’s the secret, keep moving. If you do it today you can probably do it again tomorrow
