What are you doing today, II

We hauled our fifth wheel 3 hrs northeast to a friend's camp for the weekend to go bird hunting last Friday and got back yesterday. I drove my daughter to an appointment in the city this morning then turned my attention to ordering a set of rear brake pads for the sxs. Afterwards I spent a couple hours winterizing both fifth wheel campers in the yard and moving them to their winter storage area.

Wall papered our lower level bathroom. Or more accurately I finished the hard parts. It was 80% done. Now it is 98% done. Got all around the sink, wall fixtures, plumbing, behind the toilet, etc. There are 2 tiny strips left to do. One is about 1/2 tall by 24" wide. The other about 1/2" wide by 40" tall.

Just finished eating.

I'll be leaving to drive to Purdue to coach fencing tonight. Should leave campus about midnight.

Yesterday I went to the high school for their first day of fencing practice. WOW what chaos that was. Can't begin to describe difference between the high school and the college fencers. I needed a drink after getting home from the high school to calm down. I never feel that way when coming home from collegiate practice, usually I am feeling really happy when I am coming home. High school, uh, not so much.

After stepping away from high school all last season I am now questioning my sanity to return to it. I did only commit to 1 day a week and no tournaments. So at least I set a limit.

About 2 months ago, while I was out of town, the lovely Mrs_Bob decided to wallpaper the downstairs bathroom. She did a really nice job on the clear walls that didn't have plumbing or electrical fixtures. But when she got to the sink and light fixtures she stopped. So the project, which, of course, I knew nothing about prior to its start, remained undone. There was the promise that she would "get it done" but that remained just a promise.

So today I got off my lazy butt and finished. A couple pieces up at the soffit. Over/under the pedestal sink. Around the wall cabinet. Behind the toilet. Rehung the mirror. The toilet paper holder no longer "wobbles" when dispensing the s#!t tickets, the GFI outlet is actually now flush against the wall. Pretty happy with the results. Although I was just as happy pre-wallpaper.

This is a small bathroom off our family room. Not sure that the shower has ever been used in the 29 years we have lived in the house. When I built the room my thought was that the shower would be used to wash the dogs. At that time we had 2 large Akitas. We've downsized our dogs over the years. Never washed any of our Akitas in that shower, nor anything else that I know of.

It's been kinda rainy today. I drove to the border to pick up a couple of packages this morning. My back has been sore from riding the quad this past weekend out bird hunting despite it riding like a Cadillac. So I rested this afternoon with my feet up.

Nothing much lately.
Tomorrow two of my work- best -nursey friends, myself and my son Jeff are going to Detroit for a concert at the Performing Arts Center. Air Supply lol

Jeff said geez Mom, I'd go with you guys to see them. I said really? He said yes.. REALLY.

We'll be heading out around 3:30/4:00, concert is at 8.
Other plans are to eat at Eminem's "Mom's Spaghetti".
Hopefully do the Motown Museum as well.
Should be fun 😁 😊

Worked on the Garden Bridge deck. Cut and laid the last decking pieces. Made and did the final trim cuts along with setting most of the screws. Finished off placing the decorative grave and rinsed the dust away.

Hopefully, I can get Crumpy to do photos in the morning.

Drove to the city this morning to drop off some lab work for my wife. Hauled out the snowmobile trailer and backed the boat in under the attached carport on the garage. It sits there covered for the winter. I still have to pull the batteries to store in the heated attached garage on the house for the winter. I already ran plumbing antifreeze through both fifth wheel campers yesterday. I have someone coming tomorrow to see one of them that's been for sale for a while.

Right now? Listening to the train in the distance with coyotes howling and crying every time the horn blows at 7am.

I had planned on going to camp this morning to finish closing up and winterizing everything however, I have someone coming this afternoontolook at the fifth wheel so I'll probably go in the morning. I did both fifth wheel campers this week already. I can't believe how much the rv places charge to winterize a camper with plumbing antifreeze. They want $200 to flip a few valves and pull a drain plug from the hot water tank. I can winterize an rv in about 20 minutes.

After showing the fifth wheel, I have to head to the city to bring our 15 yr old son to open up a bank account as he applied for his first job and had an interview yesterday. He starts this week.

This evening, we have a dinner party to attend.

I still have some cleanup to do and a few screws missing but here is the new deck and surge pond.

Water will flow from right to left of the picture. At the far right is the beginning of the "Spring Creek" that flows to the waterfall. About twenty feet away.

The creek is called "Cicile Creek" after my paternal grandmother. It currently exist but is full of mulched leaves for Appleton the Turtle, to enjoy a safe & snug sleep this winter. I will dig it out after she comes out of hibernation next April.

We had a GREAT time 🙂
Last photo is myself and my boy Jeff during the concert.
Yes, he loved it.
Had to post a screenshot because I don't know how to post a video on here.
The song playing at that time was Air Supply's "Sweet Dream" toward the end of the concert, then they came back out and did an encore.

We finally got out of Detroit around midnight.
I took a beautiful picture of the Ambassador Bridge lit up, but for the life of me I cannot find it in my picture files. 😞

That's looking great 👍 A lot of work went into that. You should be proud.

Today's plans? Unsure. I do have to head in to the city and have a few things to do outside later when it warms up. I love the fall but my back isn't so sure. It's a balmy +2 celcius this morning but going to the low 20s later on. Yes, it's the Canadian fall phenomenon. Turn on the furnace at night. Turn on the ac during the day. Pants sweater and jacket in the morning. Shorts in the afternoon. The change in temperature kills my back.

Looks good, its only time and money, right
Right. :ROFLMAO:

Mostly time for the present. Over time, I have purchased materials for project I did not have time to accomplish. Now that I am retired, I have time.
Which works out as it now takes me much longer to do anything I had planned earlier in life.

Thanks for the compliment

Pool guys showed up at 8am to close the pool. They were gone by 10am.

Stained some poplar boards that I will be using to enhance the wood trim in our living room.

Waited for the refrigerator repair man to show up, of course while he was here the refrigerator was working perfectly and silently. He did recommend that I clean the coils. So since it was already pulled out he showed me what to do. Got the shop vac, etc and set about cleaning it. He thinks our compressor fan is the source of the noise. But...

Thinking of wrapping a pork loin in bacon and cooking it for dinner.

Not going to fencing tonight, so maybe relaxing in front of the TV set?

I got one tooth pulled and 2 fillings done.
Trying to psyche my self out to peel and snit 60 bushels of apples tomorrow.
On the bright side one of the clubs at the high school is coming with 20 kids to help out I hope we get done, our festival is this weekend and our biggest fund raiser for our Volunteer Fire Company.

We finished up this Pallet unloader for inspection and repair of pallets
A stack of pallets comes in on the rollers from a conveyor, then the hydraulic cylinder tips the stack down to the orientation its in now, then the hydraulic motor that is attached to the center pusher, pushes the stack up so the pallets can be removed one at a time for inspection. We delivered it this morning and will install it in a few weeks when the pack season ends.
