What are you doing today, II

Oh shit. I saw that apparatus around the horse and thought you were getting ready to grill/rotisserie.

My wife is the treasurer for our small communities fairgrounds board. This weekend, they are hosting the RCMP musical horse ride. Here's a video of a show three weeks ago. I brought our old fifth wheel over to be used as an office to handle all the cash. They're also using my sxs and golf cart.

Busy day today at the fire house 2 motorcycle accident's one tree down and all in 2 hours 30 miles one way to the 2 motorcycle accident's tree was only 5 miles up the road, then a med call for shortness of breathe.
So i got nothing done today other than fire calls:(
I still trying to get my log splitter leaking tank fixed im planning on getting up early to work on it to beat the heat it's supposed to be 95 tomorrow

Day 2 of the musical ride. Pretty sweet deal. It's a HOT weekend. The fairgrounds is using my old fifth wheel as a mobile office. My sxs and golf cart. So I get an honorary volunteer wrist band which gave me free food and entry. Everyone else is roasting in the sun while I'm sitting under the awning watching the show.

Watching the same news, with the same videos, and the same reporters, about the Trump shooting being reported over and over, and over, again.
Same here Francis.
I've spent the rest of the day on Facebook communicating with my niece and cooking and talking to my former rehab resident "G".

Food/fattening..
G.. am I proud of him? Yes! 🙂

We used the old fifth wheel we've had for sale this past weekend as a mobile office for the fairgrounds committee that hosted the musical ride. Since I had it hooked up, I spent the morning giving it at good scrubbing outside as well as finally fixing the ac unit. It wasn't working so I went up on the roof and discovered a wasp next holding the fan. It works great now.

No real progress today on log splitter :(

On the other hand my wife lost 1/2 pound the hard way.
She had her gaul bladder taken out she's been having issues for a year or 2 but it came to a head 2 months ago with major pain, the dr said it might have been infected so she's on antibiotic's and good pain killers

Doing storm clean up for a few days, in addition to hauling out the old washer & dryer so new units could be installed, so I've been busy inside and outside the house.

I have learned many new skills.

A shop vac can effectively extract broken glass out of a finger tip

Sweeping broken glass on a patio with a broom beaks up the chards of glass into smaller and harder to pick up pieces of glass

A shop vac can be used to effectively & efficiently pick up broken glass from your lawn, but do not accidentally suck up dog poop during the process

Rain soaked mulch, mixed with broken glass, makes an almost indestructible clog in a shop vac hose that is exactly in the middle of the hose length so it is just as difficult to reach from either end.

Wow. Lot's of damage from that storm.

I found a local discount lumber store just down the road that sells lumber at less than half the price of home depot today. Picked up enough wood to finish the project at camp. Now I'm at the races. We're starting first in our heat. See how things go.

At camp nursing a very sore right leg due to an aggravated sciatica nerve in my lower back. I've had chronic back pain for years but this rivals to days following my motorcycle accident. I found a pkg of sausages in the freezer that I'm using as an ice pack.

Went to head to camp after dinner tree down across the road and i didnt have my chain saw turned a round and went home luckily its only 14 or so miles to camp and got about 1/2 way there tomorrow is another day (hopefully some one else cuts it up before I get there tomorrow morning)

Relaxed in the morning. But told my friend I'd be in Chicago at dinner time. He needed to borrow some tools for his fencing club on the north side of the city. I screwed up, I'm supposed to be in Chicago SATURDAY. Basically I promised to bring him a couple tools he really needed and then I was wrong about the date.

He is remodeling his club, it is shut down and every day closed is lost income. So with my error realized, I drove the tools to his doorstep, about 80 minutes up there. Not a big deal, but the timing was bad and I was up on the city's north side, departing at the start of rush hour. DAMN. Didn't get back home until almost 7:30pm this evening.

Departed my home about 1:30, so a 6 hour round trip. Yes I did stop at the famous SUPERDAWG for dinner, that's 30 minutes of drive thru goodness in the car. And yes, I did spend about an hour+ at his fencing club offering suggestions and trading ideas. But the other 4 hours was mostly stuck in traffic. He helps my students a lot so I honestly felt it necessary to make the trip. Had I realized my mistake earlier, I'd have left the house earlier and probably shaved at least an hour off the time I spent sitting traffic. Its not a bad drive if you time it correctly, but time it wrong and you simply are stuck.

I have the same going on right now, I was working on the brightwork on the boat, bending over at the waist for a week. I just ordered an inversion table.

Wow. Never fun watching someone close to you in pain like that.

My sciatica was a little better today but I rested most of the day at camp. I did need to stand and stretch out my leg this afternoon so I finished installing the sink and built a counter in the sink house I built behind the camper.

Today on my way home I broke down and bought some CBD gummies my back was bad yesterday and today sitting there didn't help
the girl in the store said to take 1/2 of one and see how it does I'm on hour 4 and back isn't hurting as much I'm going to take the other half at bed time to get some sleep, time will tell how I do.

I find the gummies useless as they take too long to work then it's a case of "did I feel anything" after 3 hours. Absolutely nothing but rest and laying down has helped me. 😌 I was up 3 times last night barely able to stand or sit. I have a massage gun I'm using on my hip and leg as it burns to stand.

Finally, I am done with cutting down trees. So, today I begin bringing the 2006 Crossfire Convertible back to life from two years of storage. It needs anew battery ($248.00) and the rear window resealed to the top. That project may take a while as I am reluctant to do it myself.

I need to put some miles on it before taking it in for inspection and state plates.

With my asthma I reluctant to try the vape stuff.
The 1/2 last night didn't work well took 1 at 5:30 this morning feel pretty good now

We came home from camp this morning. I can now check that one off the list of "redneck hauling services". I hauled my neighbors plastic shed back for him. It's an hour drive. Couldn't even do the speed limit on the highway as air was getting trapped and the whole thing was acting like a parachute. Oh well. Made it in one piece

So she who must be obeyed didn't believe that it was sciatica pain. We got home from camp and went and sat at emerge for 5 hrs to have a doctor confirm it.
