I’m looking to put tracks on my 98 carry. Curious of everything you needed to complete installation. Hub adapters, brackets, lift kit, etc. would appreciate any help!It Lives!
I greatly appreciate you taking time to help. I do not have the truck yet but most likely picking it up Sunday. I’m also curious if you think it is the right route for me. I have property 8 miles deep in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula where they get a lot of snow. The 8 miles is a groomed snowmobile trail with about a 1/2 mile drive off of the snowmobile trail to my property. I debated between buying a snowmobile and a side by side, but think the mini truck with tracks is a better option for me. I’m a little concerned about it becoming a money pit… Trying to build a dependable all weather vehicle on a budget. But, anyways I’m going to go the camso route as it is a little cheaper. Plan on picking up a used pair. Do you happen to have pictures of the anti roll brackets you made? Do you think I could also make the hub adapters? Did you go with the heavy duty springs up front? Is there a thread dedicated to the van build? Sorry for the loaded post. And you need a 3” lift kit. Easily found on the internet. Just google mini truck lift kit.
As long as the deep snow is wet and heavy, my van does great, even 20’ drifts. The Suzuki did well also. Never had an opportunity to get into deep powder, but I imagine it wouldn't go well, likely plow thru it blocking the radiator and overheat. If I remember right the Camso tracks have a lug to attach the anti roll bar to, the front attached to the A arm and the tear to the frame to control track roll, and yes they are necessary, without them you could never cross a ditch.I greatly appreciate you taking time to help.
