What are you doing today, II

I got to see the grandbugs again today!
I'm beginning to understand what's going on now between their Mother (Ty's ex) ,him and his wife Felicia.
Maddie told me today that "girls don't kiss girls because that's not a love story". 😔😪
She was talking about her Mother being in a gay relationship now.
This kid is smart and sees everything that's going on.
How do you explain this to a girl who is going to be 11 years old?
My Granddaughters do not see the crap that's going on in that kind of environment, as a rule.
They were raised in the country, had been going to school and have never been exposed to this.
Now they're being home- schooled, which I hope is really happening.
When I visit them, I'm careful about what I say because I have to be.

I do have some positive news.
I got a raise in my survivor's benefits which I've been receiving since Steven passed away.
I do normally get a bit more annually, but never this much.
It helps.
I'd rather still have him though, and be in our home in Normanton.

If the kids are smart and they go the right way that's the most important thing I believe. You still have the most precious thing: them. 🙏

Awesome! Nice find.
While that's the accurate translation, the second word is enough in normal use. :) That's how we use it.

Locals usually say "thank you" in English while talking in Sinhala language. But in writing it's what you've said.

There's many English words that are used with the local language. Also words from Dutch, Portuguese, Hindi, and several other languages.

Slept like crap.

Up now and have my steaming cup o joe.

Plenty more coffee later. I have a lesson session at my fencing club this afternoon, then I drive to Purdue for practice this evening. Should be leaving campus about midnight. Its going to be cold, heated seats and a heated steering wheel will come in handy.

Slept like crap xs 2. 😴

Up at 4am with a burning back. Thankfully I have no appointments scheduled for today. Got supper prepared cooking in the slow cooker. Had a hot tub to relax my back enough to allow me to function today. The only thing exciting for me today is a trip to the dump later.

Pretty cold here and high winds so not doing anything outside.
Paperwork this morning, puttering around the shop this afternoon.

Dump trip is done. Dropped off the truck to get the ac compressor clutch changed. Hopefully that gets my ac working again. It's been out for 4 years. Rather than draining the ac coolant and replacing the whole compressor then paying to recharge the system I'm opting for this as it's a cheaper option. I also made a fresh loaf of bread in the maker for supper. Porcupine meatballs. My daughter asked about them the other day.

12:50am. Just got home from Purdue University a little while ago. I left campus just after midnight Eastern Time. 90 minute drive to get home, but I stopped for gas on my way home. I live in the Central Time Zone so I 'gain' an hour coming home.

Practice tonight was casual and fun. Not much work got done, mostly just 'recreational' fencing because the national championships were held this past weekend. One of my girls won Silver for Women's Saber.

Not a whole lot planned today. I have an appointment in the city this morning. We'll see how my back feels later as I may head down to the garage and tackle the fuel pump on my sxs. It started acting up and cutting out while plowing this winter. I limped it down to the shop where it's been sitting for a month or so. I finally ordered a new pump and filter for it. They arrived yesterday.

I'm doing an afternoon shift today.
It's been a while since I've done that.
Never again!
This agency nurse who was supposed to relieve me at 6, called the facility and said she was 45 minutes out, coming from Fostoria.
She finally showed up walking in with her bag of goodies, coffee and took her sweet time so I could give her report.
I was livid.
You go girl.
Making $10 more an hour than me.

Kind of a lay day for me.
Took Crumpy to work today but first we had lunch at our favorite Italian restaurant. When our business was open, we ate at Stephanina's every day. For about 20 years. It is 15 miles from home so, now hardly ever. That will change. Once a month now.
Put fertilizer down on my new lawn with some weed killer. Dandelions popping up.
Picked up sticks and branches left over from the windstorms of last week.
Fixed Madisons little bike. Flat tires and WD'd a rusty chain.
Put fresh seed in the bird feeders and split firewood.
Watched FOX display President Trump's Victories.
Awesome!!!!!

Nothing too exciting. Drove my daughter to the city earlier then went for lunch at the mall for the first time in years. I'm getting the transmission lines changed on my truck as it's sitting at 200k and 8 yrs of salt does a number on vehicles up here. I'd rather do it now then have one blow while on our rv trip this summer. I already sprayed the frame down with asphalt undercoating to prevent rot. With the price of trucks nowadays I plan on keeping it until the wheels literally fall off. (Then I'll replace the wheel bearings and reattach the wheels and keep going as long as the frame doesn't rot) Since the body is aluminum and I don't have to worry about it rotting like most chevys or dodges up here.

Searching thru everything in the library and places we have stored stuff recently for my Highschool yearbook. It was always on the shelf for years, but when we moved stuff around it was misplaced.

Nothing special, just pictures of old classmates and my Dorky self.
In high school, I was a 6'2" @ 135Lb puny putts. I put on muscle and something of a physic after joining the fire service.

I am currently retired and used to having something to do every day. But without a job, I don't.
I guess reminiscing is one of those things I'm supposed to do now.
Feels weird.

This is your conscious, you have a cabin to work on at hippie ridge, reminisce on your death bed, now get out there and make more memories.
