What are you doing today, II

So, we shut off the water supply to it. That cut at least $150.00 a month of the water/sewer bill.

I plan to have two pumps. One very small one for a trickle to keep the water oxygenated. And a large one for the waterfall which will come on occasionally and only for show.
Holy cow! $150/month for the pond? I thought I recall you were using collected rain water. $150 is several months of water usage for our house.

For the trickle pump, is it a pump or an aerator? A pond aerator is pretty cheap and actually blows the bubbles into the water for aeration.
Just an example, for $39.

🥱 so I was wide awake in pain again until 3am. The alarm went off at 6am to start the day getting the kids up for school then we got the notice....all rural bus transportation is canceled due to the forecast storm. What's hitting the northeast states in thunderstorms today is supposed to drop over a ft of snow between today and tomorrow morning. So far it's been very windy with snow just starting to fall.

The thunder is in the distance but the next wave of storms, and possible tornadoes is on its way.

I'll be drugging the dog soon. His last pill for nerves was about 4am.

The local extension campus for Purdue was supposed to do a fencing demo class this afternoon, during the middle of the severe weather alert. That has been cancelled. Which is good for me, I have more time to do other stuff that is falling behind on my 'to do' list.

Rode up to camp finished installing gas line to one heater got that working.
Got water going but toilet wouldn't flush bowel would fill snd just trickle out???
I go outside check the pipe and tank same trickle????
I plunge the toilet like 1000 times not helping get toilet auger out and ran it in 3 or 4 times I gave up
worked on some other stuff checked it about 1/2 hour later level was down to normal level flushed it it worked.
I hung a paper plate on back of the toilet with a note o it NO Clydesdale poops allowed use the out house :poop:

First round of plowing done. The snow started around 4pm. I wanted to get a path cut out to the road so my kids wouldn't get stuck coming home from work.

Was sitting on hold with AEP. Wanting to discuss rate tarrifs at my building. We have 112.5 kva @ 480vac. If like to start small and put 25 data miners in. Each draws about 8amps at 240 1p.
But anyway, after much discussion, the electric portion would be about $55,000 per year.
One benefit is they make a lot of heat. Would help with the gas bill in the winter.

A lot of rain today. And the sump pump went out in the greenhouse.
An overflow could ruin the parquet floors in the lower level.
Water level reached the windowsill.
I caught it just in time.

I have a spare backup pump so we are fine....so far.

The main house pump is working fine. However, it has a plumbed backup overflow to the County sewer system. All gravity and kinda/maybe illegal,,,; IDK. I put it in in case of power outages.

Pertaining to the weather situation, I have many friends in the counties who took the slam from the storm who are still struggling.
I don't know why this is still happening?
I don't live in Allen or Van Wert county now so I don't know.
There are 6 people who I lost contact with.

Scratch that.
I've been in panic mode.
They are all okay.

does the aerator work pretty good?

Spent all morning recovering from yesterday.

Had an Epee fencing class with an Olympian, the class was hugely fun, but ran about 30 minutes overtime. Then I taught a beginning saber fencing class for 2 more hours. Woke up this morning and my entire upper body was in pain. Tramadol and advil when I woke up did nothing. More tramadol and advil at 11:30am. Started feeling close to normal about 2pm.

Picked up Kobe at daycare, we stopped at the Meijer supermarket on the way home. We had planned to go to a small fencing tournament tonight, just to watch, but decided to stay home instead. I'm watching REACHER on AmazonPrime. Kobe and the lovely Mrs_Bob are upstairs.

Oh, and my sister in law is sick and moved back into our house. With her dog, who whines. Fun times.

I don't often d pictures.

It's just the same as the original. Float trigger when the Sump basin fills, shuts off when empty.

The original failed because the plug overheated. Pump is likely okay. A new male plug and I'll be back in business.

Yes. A small trickle of water dropping two feet works extremely well. Next season, with a pond liner, we will do a small pump and recirculate water 24/7. However, some evaporation and small leaks require constant replenishment. I got lazy.
Perhaps a toilet float and valve will do the trick? Just cannot see the toilet as a lawn ornament the wife will endure.

The rain never came. At least not enough to compensate for the natural bottom. Besides, I haven't installed the gutters yet. At the moment, only the patios are draining into the pond. Today however, they seem to be doing just fine.

BTW, Our water bill last month was just over $50.00. However, once the season is up my landscaping, gardens and Small annimal/ Bird sanctuary takes a lot of water.

We shall see.

Wednesday My grand son had "a tire fall off" on the way to school I thought the worse and grabbed a floor jack and ran down to look at it, he would have been late for school ran him to school. I get back to car and tire is flat and off bead. I put spare on and drove it to the tire shop and they don't have the tires I want he needed 4 tires they said they'd be there Thursday didn't make it Friday still no tires when I called. They have never let me down before I'm stopping tomorrow to see what's up.
Went to camp Thursday got the small propane heater hooked up and figured out what materials I need for the next wall insulation phase'
Running around for firehouse electrical project materials of some more outlets outside the building for our Sawdust Festival (chain carving show fund raiser)

Have you tried tirerack.com? That's where I get all my tires and they're delivered in a day or 2.

They usually beat the online company's when you add the mounting on, we use LT M/S tires because of the shale and mud and snow up at camp.

Todays escapades
Get up at 4:00 for fisherman's breakfast fund raiser at the fire house.
I get home around 11:00 and "the better half" decides she wants the raised garden boxes and dirt gone and I'm running on fumes before I start this "urgent" project my grandson is on the tractor trying to lift the whole box 3x4 ft and it wont do it I get on and brake down the box with the tractor and work on the dirt only 5 more to go he says he can do it. I go inside only to be called out they cant get tractor unstuck I try and talk him in to how to use the differential lock but he doesn't grasp it so I hop on and back out with the differential lock and mention to him don't run over the septic tank plastic lid. its going to be an early night. I taking some tylenol now before I start to ache. heart is doing good with all this work.

I've been taking it easy today doing as little as possible as I was awake half the night again with a sore back. We're in between seasons with snow one day and rain the next leaving a sloppy mess outside everywhere so I can't get much done outside anyway. Our camp friends are having a get together this evening in the city so we'll go to that for a bit as we missed the last one.

Technically, it's an herb garden. ;)
Spice Gardens are a big tourist trap in my country. They grow a few sample plants from each species, and then sell low quality spice packets in fancy covers for exorbitant prices. Guides and drivers take them to those places for the commission. There are even "ayurvedic doctors" who would "prescribe" you magical cures made purely from herbs. Concoctions that work magic! After going back home the tourist realizes that the whole thing was a scam. That's after parting from their hard earned money.

Puttered around today inside when the rain stopped welded some tie downs on my trailer I messed one up can you see the difference?

I had planned to go out to buy a WD-40 can today. But didn't go as it looked like rain. Guess what. It did rain. Lol. Had no power for about an hour. Going tomorrow, as I need that oil to unscrew an old rice cooker.
