sno(w) cat serenade, SV2022

I have an issue and an offer. I am planning to show up on Tuesday and do the campout that night, my wife is staying in Ketchum, and my son will not be coming until Thursday, so I will be alone. The issue is I am bringing two snowcats, the Frandee and the Kitten, and am not to excited to leave the Kitten parked unattended at the trailhead all night and day, even though it is in the back of the truck. So if there is anyone that wants to attend the awesome Cidertom winter camping adventure, but does not have a snowcat to get there, I would let you drive my Kitten or Frandee in to the event and I would drive the other one. Let me know if you are interested. If not I will figure something else out.

GMOoSE, greg Perrine, "DOC" is coming in on the 8 th into sun valley and staying at the sun valley, so if you want to unload your kitten in the parking lot we use, he can check on and make sure all is good, if that works I will make all the arrangements for you for the kitten to have a warm bowl of oil Tuesday night

CAMPING:
I will be there on the 7th, If I'm not at the parking lot on the 8th, make your way to the baker creek campground. If you have space, a armload of firewood also/ Remember, meals on on your own. If there are any early risers on the 9th that want to come visit before we break camp, feel free.

I will be in Boise at 5pm on the 8th and should arrive in Sun Valley around 8 to 9pm. If I can help out by keeping an eye on your machine or anything else I can to to help GMoose just let me know. I am not prepared to go camping with y'all though. Sorry.

HEADS-UP. According to Idaho 511 there is construction starting Monday on ID 75 North of the US 20 interchange. The info section says width restriction. If you are wide load, you might want to check deeper.

Funny people, thay say consider alternate route. Like there is one.
Good catch Cidertom, ITD site says width limit through the work zone is12 feet.

Do we need any sort of Idaho permit for the snow cat?
kenncrew, as in past years, I have bought all the needed permits and given them to each person that comes, so that everyone is legal and does not need to jump through hoops to buy any and all of the required stickers, next, as I have done every year, trail food is free, no charge, come and enjoy, basically there is no nickel and dime program for everyone that comes...

so, yes you need and permit and yes I will give you a permit, I want everyone to enjoy the snow cat serenade

NEWS FLASH !!!!

WE HAVE OUR OWN PARKING AREA, JUST FOR US,

IT IS CALLED THE MORITZ PARKING AREA, IT IS THE PARKING AREA WE HAVE USED FOR THE PAST SERVAL YEARS,

IT IS ON SUN VALLEY INN ROAD, JUST BEFORE YOU BEFORE THE TURN FOR SUN VALLEY INN ENTRANCE

AGAIN PLEASE PARK ONLY IN THE MORITZ PARKING AREA, ON SUN VALLEY INN ROAD, IT IS THE LAST RIGHT HAD TURN INTO SUN VALLEY, THE NEXT RIGHT HAND TURN IS A MILE DOWN THE ROAD FOR THE Golf COURSE

Camping food for some is "beanieWeenie" not for me. the evening meal on the 8th was marinated pork loin roast, a gratin potatoes, peas in a light butter sauce and warm apple sauce. Breakfast the next morning was blueberry coffeecake, bacon. The first morning I was there breakfast was omelet cheese and diced ham, peppers, onions. photos of the cook tent and some of the food. lighting in the cook tent sucks due to the red nylon.

There are tents, and then there are #ArcticOven tents. I built a hard flooring system for mine. Usually I don't use a sleeping bag if I have the stove, just make up the bed with sheets. Wed morning I woke up and fed the fire, only I forgot to close the damper back down when I went back to bed. Hour later I had Arctic sauna.
