I came out exactly double, yours is correct. I multiplied it one time too many

Scientists observed a fish swimming at 27,349 feet, which they say is the deepest observation of nature to date. The creature in question is called a snailfish, and it's adapted to some of the world's coldest temperatures.

Did you know ....

75% of the world's food crops come from only 12 species of plants.
The world’s food supply depends on about 150 plant species. Of those 150, just 12 provide three-quarters of the world’s food. More than half of the world’s food energy comes from a limited number of varieties of three “mega-crops”: rice, wheat, and maize.

Corn should be somewhere on the list.

I think maize is a small dark grain which is grown for feed. Maiz is Spanish for corn. At least that is how I remember it.

from wikipedia

Maize (/meɪz/ MAYZ; Zea mays subsp. mays, from Spanish: maíz after Taino: mahis[2]), also known as corn in North American and Australian English, is a cereal grain first domesticated by indigenous peoples in southern Mexico about 10,000 years ago.[3][4] The leafy stalk of the plant produces pollen inflorescences (or "tassels") and separate ovuliferous inflorescences called ears that when fertilized yield kernels or seeds, which are fruits.[5][6] The term maize is preferred in formal, scientific, and international usage as the common name because this refers specifically to this one grain whereas corn refers to any principal cereal crop cultivated in a country. For example, in North America and Australia corn is often used for maize, but in England and Wales it can refer to wheat or barley, and in Scotland and Ireland to oats.
