What's up with the ugly yellow background?

A color should be used. Again, the intent of the color is to let members know what section of the forum they've entered. If they see the bright yellow, that's the warning you're in the Debate & Discussion forum and to read/post at your own risk.

It strikes me that the yellow is doing EXACTLY what it was intended to do. :hide:

People do notice it. That is the whole point. People do see it, so they know they are in the Debate & Discussion area.

Why change what obviously is working :confused2:
 
Personnally I think it is ok. I like it. It's not that big of a deal. I know I am in the Debate and Discussion area when I see the yellow. I appreciate all the work and time Doc has put into this forum. So I don't know why anyone would have even complained about it:confused2: If Doc made it another color then someone would have bitched about that too. It's like Bob said, it's working, leave it alone.

Based on your last Avatar, it's no wonder.

I suggest just making the left and/or right margins colored, and not the top/bottom -- that's the part that really looks fugly.

I haven't used vBulletin, but I would assume if it lets you modify the background color, it should allow you to set a background image, or use/modify a stylesheet.

No rewriting of anything.
