What are you doing today, II

I had a rather sleepless night due to back pain (there's a big storm heading this way overnight). I feel the barometric pressure change. But I didn't let it slow me down today. First off I swapped out the stupid aftermarket stereo they had installed in the car and reinstalled the factory one they included in the sale of the car. Then jumped in the truck and hooked up to my enclosed cargo trailer to go pick up a set of winter tires and factory rims off farcebook marketplace and dropped them off at the shop where it's going for a safety Monday. I came home and dropped the trailer and truck and jumped in the car after a quick lunch to head back to the city to pick up the two youngest at their school to bring them to an orthodontist appointment. Now I finally get to slow down and catch up here.

Why did you need to use/tow an enclosed trailer to pick up 4 tires for a Buick? Why not just throw them in the bed of the truck?

Me, I finished the final tax returns (for a Trust, not personal returns). I'm getting major surgery soon. Wanted to make sure ALL the critical/timely paperwork is addressed in case I never wake back up.

You going to be ok? Is the surgery more likely to be successful, than the other way? Good luck man.

Scary for sure, and you have to hope for the best and plan for the worst. But never fear. It is simply amazing what they can do these days. Best wishes.

Customer of mine got me something from Texas, a Stetson cowboy hat and it fits me. I love it, he went to visit family down there and knows a I am a cowgirl at heart too.

Presentation at a library that wants us to do a youth program on fencing occupied early afternoon.

Then awards banquet for the high school fencing program, gave out awards, ate a good meal.

Now ready for bed.

The team: Saber took most of the awards today.

Most improved player, and only his 2nd year.

2 of my graduating seniors. Both won the all conference Sportsmanship Award, which is awarded by a vote of the OTHER team coaches. And first time I can recall both the men's and women's awards going to the same team.

It's officially a snow day. The storm my back was forecasting two nights ago materialized overnight. All school transportation is canceled. That means my wife also stays home for work and works from home. She normally goes in to the office Friday. The snow isn't going to let up until this evening. I actually look forward to snow storms as I get outside plowing snow.

Seen the cancer specialist, the consultation for the removal of the lump found in my right breast. Set the surgery date for March 10th. He did like it was caught in time and I have my yearly mammograms. Boyfriend was with me for support and will be there with me on surgery day also for support

Had a contractor come out and do an estimate for a horse barn. I have a horse named Stella home is at a friend's place and I want her to be at my place. It was a good price with 3 horse stalls and told him lets do it. Stella is a good horse, I have had her for 8 years now since she was a yearling. I am a cowgirl at heart as well. A contractor whom is a customer of mine knows the builder well and going with him on it. Going to start the middle of next month building it having an open field behind my house where it is going to be built

I just finished renovating the Furnace utility room. Basically the "asshole" room of the house that collected dust and every bit of useless crap we didn't want out for people to see. Studded the concrete foundation walls and filled all the studded walls with insulation.
I had three sheets of 3/8's CDX for the outside walls and the tub enclosure. Finished off with two sheets of 21/4" underlayment. Painted everything white.

The 3/8's CDX was perfect for mounting cabinets.

Years ago, I had bought some plastic cabinetry kits which I assembled and secured to the new walls.

I still have the slop-sink wall to sheath and paint. It also gets a matching wall hung cabinet.

I will get Crumpy to post pictures.

Got my Bobcat skid steer out, replacing a leaking valve cover gasket. Taking it over to a neighbor across the street to clear some dirt away in one area. She is glad to have me around for help, recovering from an auto accident 4 weeks ago which broke her right arm and 4 broke ribs listening to doctor's orders. Her now ex boyfriend would not listen to her, told him not to drive drunk and call someone to pick them up. Good thing is he is jail for DUI and the injuries to her getting a prison sentence

I'm still clearing snow today. I was out yesterday for a couple hours with the side by side plowing until my baterry drained down and my winch froze up and I busted a ubolt clamp attaching the I've been dragging my arse since christmas working on my plow truck. I had a new starter, powerf steering pump and hoses, and fuel pump done in december and drove it home. All thatg was left was installing a new electric motor on the lift pump (which I have). I just haven't gotten motivated to do it as I was having fun with the side by side pushing snow around the yard. But with the amount of snow we now have and another dump on the way on tuesday, today is the day to get the pump working on the plow truck and reattach the plow.

Was at the neighbor's and she was happy where I put the dirt at with my skid steer. Plus her 15 year old son watched and asked me if I would teach him to operate it and told him yes. I shown him and he learned quickly doing good. She wanted me to come over with my front loader/back loader to dig out a tree stump near her house and told her no for liability reasons. I did not want to make a bad move doing damage not having the insurance to cover the damage. Luckily she understood why and gave her a number of a place I have used for getting tree stumps ground

update...got the plow pump back together and the plow reinstalled this afternoon but running into an issue with it not going down. It goes up, left, right. I figured its probably a stuck solenoid. I'll dig into it more monday as I had to turn my attention to the snowmobiles that have been sitting neglected on the trailer covered for two years. I'm going out on a 100km round trip tomorrow to inspect the scout cabin with another leader and his twin brother who is on navy leave right now. He lives in Halifax but still has a snowmobile here for when he comes back to visit during the winter.
