Tucker Sno Cat Trailer New To Me

In addition to the front panel mounted axe/shovel holder anomaly, this model had a metal Tucker badge.

This trailer had to have been late or towards end of production.

The original wood floor most likely had a cost effective coating if any to protect from moisture and wear/tear.

The East Coast Preserve often makes a use case to deviate from the norm to enhance the longevity of the miles per smile factor.

West System 105 Epoxy with 207 Special Clear Hardner will provide the moisture barrier with 3 coats. All epoxy currently on the market will yellow over time if not top coated with something to shield the finish from fun in the sun☀️

Three more final coats of Epiphanes 2-part Clear Gloss Polyurethane will provide the additional final UV 🕶️protection.

Foothold traction wasn’t an early consideration but this model has premium safety features…..

That rubber pad will be a good launch point for the snow covered boot slide right into the rear door of the cat!

Bumpers stickers always tell a tale of where something has been and maybe where it’s going.

The SV is clearly Sun Vally, Idaho but the map pins marked in black sign paint are a bit more cryptic.

The Idaho one looks to be in the vicinity of Post Falls and the Oregon one around Portland. USA badge tells me it’s all AMERICAN🇺🇸!

Great project. I inherited some kind of a sled like this. Tongue was bent and decking rotted, Chopped the tongue and added straight tubing. Now I need to think about a deck and some benches like yours. What size are the skis for this trailer?

wow, many many many countless hours making this all happen and looking so good, well done, happy trails to all

Tucker used lots of plywood in Cats and on Trailers. Finish would have been quick and cheap if at all.

Epifanes PP is the finish of choice which is flexible and has UV protection for the wood in this preservation. A thinned first coat provides good absorption and sealing when brushed.

4 coats will be applied thinned less with each application. Special finish for a special trailer….

The original plywood seat slats on this trailer were in good enough shape to use as a drill template to make new slats great again in 2025!🇺🇸

All my plywood hater friends, apology accepted in advance.

The white ash finish ply and internal ply variations compliment the SAWTOOTH REDS color scheme well.

New version of SNOvid illness got me slowed but steady finishing this up as ❄️creeps in….
