Hey Dr.D, nice to have a different perspective on this forum and in the thread.

Just like SOME Muslims are extreme, you will find SOME Christians are extreme, and SOME Athiests are extreme, etc. I'm glad you jumped in to offer some perspective.

On the other hand, I'm also a bit skeptical that you are who you say you are. Your IP address links back to Saudia Arabia, but seems to bounce to Amsterdam and that IP covers a wide area of Europe including Turkey. Now as to the writing style, while it is the style of an American youth, it also seems like you are trying too hard, so I am even skeptical that you are young!

I do, however, have a question for you that perhaps you can offer a unique perspective on. Why do so few Muslims speak out against the terrorism?

And question #2, perhaps one that can be answered by you and others, what is the difference between the Sunni and Shiite secs of the Muslim religion? And why do the some members of two secs choose to kill each other?

Thanks DrD. When I was in college I was invited to attend school in the KSA and I also had an offer to go to the American University in Beruit (but I'm not sure if that is still there). Anyway my college major was political science with a specialty of Anti-Terrorism, but that was back before the Muslim extremists were a threat, and during the 'cold war' years when most people were worried about Communists in the USSR (shows my age). I'm also a student of the Old Testiment of the Bible (the Jewish Bible) but have little understanding of the Koran. I've done some studies of the Hindu religion as well.

I am well aware that Saudi Arabia is a safe place. I'm just unclear why there is a civil war in Iraq and why Iran is trying to undermine the new government of Iraq.

I'd appreciate any insight you can provide.
