Looking for a Bombi??

@BoyToys

I am trying to find some information about this machine. I took the gamble and purchased it, but I am having a really hard time finding information about the Br-110.

Would anyone have any information? Spreadsheet or brochure on this type of machine? A Spec. sheet would be awesome.

I appreciate any help you or anyone else can provide.

Then click on the link to goldcordmine. I tried but it came back that it couldn't be downloaded securely but I did it anyway.

Memories of SE Idaho. Lived in American Falls for 5 years from '88-'93.

Thank you. yeah, there isn't much on the BR 110 or the Br 60. Both would be almost the same I will keep digging.

You might want to post on the snowcats parts and problems forum, or on several of the Facebook sites. Keep digging, wish I could help but only know about Imps.

I have a paper 100 and -1 manual.

The 60+ and 110 elude me

Thank you so much for the replies. I'm sorry it took me a bit to respond, I was trying to get this machine home.

I am still new to the forum and trying to figure it out. Yes, I am very interested in a copy of a manual for the 110. @redsqwrl

@BoyToys I am not too far from that area. I love it out here, you know that Big Desert could be a playground for me now, with the right snow conditions.

Being New Year's Eve, I stayed up and worked on the br110. As far as I can tell it had not run since the winter of 16/17. I got it fired up, built oil pressure and operated the blade. I just need to work on the steering breaks, work on some electrical, and clean it up.

Things that it needs.

Two Sliding windows.
Throttle cable.
Steering brakes fixed, adjusted, and/or replaced.
One new bogie wheel.
New Battery.
Some Upholstery work.
Update some lights; personal preferences LOL.

Thanks again.

Question, i bought a Thiokol 1404 IMP a year ago. What spark plugs does anyone recommend for the Ford v-4 104 engine it has? THe previous owner had Auotlite XP64's in it.

Mine came with Autolite 64, and I replaced with the same. I don't know what the XP version is

Bitten as they say...you are well on your way to an endless money pit addiction. I had soooo much fun getting my tired old Imp back up to snuff. Have fun, it just gets funner!
SE Idaho desert rats, as well as central Washington desert rats, are a unique breed. The cool thing for me is that it's only a 50 mile drive taking me to 3700 feet at my cabin and 40 acres. Guess where I spent New Years eve?

Oh, I'm sure you spent it playing in the snow. If this was up and running, I would be, too!

So, I pulled the diff cover to look at the bands, and the mechanic said it didn't want to turn left very well from where I got it. I have .15 of an inch of banding left. in the thin spots but it still shows a wear grove still.

Where do you get these band brakes from? Is there someplace that can rebuild them? And what is the best oil to run in the diff? It looks to me to be ATF.

It's hard not knowing what to do without a proper manual.

I have attached some photos. And on the BR-110 do I have to pull the diff. The change these?

I am not sure on the diff pulling to fish the bands in a 110. On the OC4 diffs used in thiokols I can fish them around the drum. on a 601 I can not.

I buy brake material from mcmaster carr, they are worth a google if you don't know of them. I have a riveter and i don't over think things.

You will get lot of folks chiming in about diff fluid. I am a big fan of having some ( not gear lube) fluid in there. 8-)

if i find a manual I will share it here. I would be willing to bet the gold cord mine archive has a SV series manual in it. Bombardier was pretty good about standardizing various assemblys. with a little head scratching it will be obvious.

there is a small group of br60- 110 owners on fb. (5 of us so far)

@redsqwrl I see that company. I am not opposed to doing it. What type of material did you go with, and how thick?

I was looking at it. I like the medium—or high-friction material. It's not cheap or convenient. The standard woven looks like it would work, but I feel that my machine has the high-friction material now.

My gut is telling me to go with the 1/2-inch thick, but figured I would ask around.

Wish I could be of more help, but I know didly-squat about your machine. As Redsqwrl mentioned, it's relatively "easy" to remove the bands on Thiokol OC4's. You just pull out a clevis pin and rotate the bands out.
You have to have some sort of external actuating levers that may simply need to be tightened up a bit. You look to have plenty of brake lining material. Several of the snowcat service outfits around offer shoe relining services if you don't want to tackle it yourself.
Regarding fluid; see Redsqwrl's right-on response...especially the point about 'having some in there'. Not sure about ATF, I personally use some stuff from NAPA 85-405 for tractor hydraulic transmissions.
Click in this link of info I've accumulated. listed are all the fluid options I've heard of from other people.

Or if you can't open it, here's a scan

I finally got with Prinoth. They send me a parts breakdown. But that's it. So if anyone needs it I should be able to email it.

Does anyone know of a Thiokol Imp for sale? Our youngest son is looking for one preferably with the back enclosed.

Facebook has several pages with Imp's for sale. I was looking at some this morning.

Either Snowcat Sales
or Bombardier Bombi and Br-100 snowcats

both pages have several brands and types for sale.

there was a very nice clean 3-seat Bombi listed yesterday in Montana.
