KIDNEY STONES ~ ouch!

Well, I'm home but just got a message from the doctors office. A CT scan just before I got discharged shows they didn't get it all out and want to go in again. :(
BTW, I've taken no pain meds since leaving the hospital.

Superman!
I hope you've been instructed to cut down on sodium and protein for a while, and stay hydrated.

I don't recall seeing anything about diet restrictions. They said to go about my business except lifting anything over 10 pounds due to the incision in my back.
I'm staying hydrated but it really hurts to pee (pain level 9 yesterday, down to 5 today). Something about bladder being upset from the removal of the Foley catheter. They gave me some med who's name starts with a "P" and makes my urine orange (not FloMax) which does seem to help.

Doctors office just called as I wanted to better understand what's going to happen next (to get the remaining stone(s) out).
I go to the operating room. They put me to sleep. :)
They remove the stent from the bladder to the kidney
They then do a ureteroscopy (go up from the penis through the ureter to the kidney) and laser blast the stones in the kidney then get the stone fragments out.
Remove that scope and reinsert a stent.
I go get the stent removed a week or so later.

I'm hoping I get some sort of insurance discount (not charged full price twice) since it wasn't finished completely the first time.

Prazosin.
No, that's pyridium that makes your pee orange.

Yep, that's it. Thanks PG.
Script says to take for 2 days, I may go for 3.
It won't hurt anything if you take more.
All it does is help stop urgency and pain.
It's prescribed for us women to help with urinary pain/ or a UTI.
It's sold OTC.

Just got back from surgery. Glad I was asleep for all this.
Remove stent
ureteroscopy
cystoctopy
lithotripsy/laser
remove stone fragments
new stent

Then wake up, eat, drink, pee (with minor blood) then I came home.

It hurts when I pee so I'm going to go find my bottle of pyridium and pee orange for a couple days.

A tidbit that was cool of the hospital.
When I had the surgery a few weeks ago, I forgot my cell phone charger in the room. They called and told me but I wasn't feeling up to going back to get it. They said they'd hold it for me.
While I was in surgery today, the Mrs. went up to the unit and sure enough, they still had it waiting there for me.
