Durwood

Hang in there buddy! It can be a real challenge adapting to new lifestyles but it is what we need to do to survive. Keep after your health like it is your new job in life, because that is what it is. Know there are some good folks pulling for you around here.:flowers:

I'm doing better now but i think the medicine will kill me long before a disease will.lol I'm now taking 9 ( yes 9) blood pressure pills a day. I feel like my head is in the clouds all the time. I still am more fortunate then a lot of people so i stay positive and count my blessings. Thanks for all the prayers for me cos i do believe in the power of prayer.

Dur

Dur's been back in the hospital since Friday.
Heart cath tomorrow.
No other details at this time.
Keep him in your prayers.
Thanks.

Oh Lord. I can do without news like that.

I thought that I hadn't seen him post for a month or so but it never occurred to me that he was having trouble again.

All the best bud and you're in my thoughts and prayers.:biggrin:

I just copyed this from his Sister's FB page....
My brother Dwain has been moved from Southview hospital to Grandview. They were doing his heart cath today and had to stop - they found that his main artery called the"widowmaker" is about 70% blocked. They stopped the testing and have him scheduled for open heart sugery on Thursday morning. Not sure how many bypasses he will need until they get in there to look around. PLEASE remember him in your prayers - thank you Please Keep Dwain in your prayers...

Byron, any news from you?

PG,,Just what I read latest on his sister's F/B page... Said they met with the DR. thats going to do the by-pass..he said 3-4 maybe more.. diabeaties has most of his arterys clogged... I hope and pray everything goes smoothly for him and the DR.s today..:ermm:

I just got home..and can't get on FB..I really wanted to know how thing's went with Durwood today.I'm still praying that everything went great..any FBer's could probably look up Robin Marker Mckinney..to see if there are any updates..

I REALLY wanted to call him today and see how things went, but I think he's more than likely resting comfortably at this hour.
I'll try his cell phone in the morning Byron.

On the chance that he'd be awake and able to answer, I just rang his cell.
It went to voice.
Told him to call me back when he felt well enough to do so.

Dwain's surgery went well. He had 6 bypasses put in. We got to the hospital early enough to see him before they took him to surgery and my stomach was in knots. I was just so nervous and anxious, not knowing how this would turn out. We get to Dwain's room, he seems so calm. I asked him "are you nervous or afraid"? He said, "No, I prayed this morning "Jesus, I'm just going to lay in your arms. " ... He tells us "I'm going to be fine." He's getting ready to get his breast bone sawed in half and I'm more nervous than he is! Dr said he has diseased arteries and he would not be a candidate for a repeat surgery like this but this should last a long time. Thank you Lord for guiding the surgeon's hands. They have the breathing tube out already and said tomorrow they would have him sitting up. Now comes the time for recovery, I know I've asked several times but I'm asking again - please continue to remember him in prayer as he starts the recovery / healing process. Thank you so much!

When you get the chance, you let Robin know how many people have been praying for Dwain.
That sounds so like him, being full of faith and knowing he's in Good Hands.
He told me once he wasn't going anywhere, because he's got too much to live for.
Thanks Byron.

I have not talked to Dwain yet..Kinda thought he would be really sore..and have visitors and family..when i get home late ..but this is another copy from his sister Robin's F/B page..from friday.... I have been at the hospital and just got home. Yes, he can have visitors. They are supposed to move him from intensive care back to the ICU stepdown unit. They've had him up walking a little yesterday and today. All in all, doing pretty well but sore. He is allowed visitors.

Tell him to hang in there. Five years ago Friday they started the shocking and beating routine on me. You can survive it and lead a reasonably good life afterward.:flowers:

Yea...His sister has told him that I posted his need for prayers..on a few of the sites he belonged too....I still think I'l give him acouple days to heal..before calling him..I'm sure he is hugging the pillow..and trying not to cough!..He will call me when he is feeling better...
