Thanks PG.. I know he has not been on lately..because of no internet at his house...But his diabeates has turned into kidney trouble..with his legs and feet swelling up and seeping..he went into the hospital last friday..and there doing stress test's for a enlarged heart..when they can get the kidneys straightened out..Just thought he could use a prayer..Thanks..B,
He told me a while back that he was at his sisters place now, and at that time wasn't feeling well.
He's a sweetie for sure. Wondered why I hadn't gotten any jokes and things from him lately.

He is still in his house but his internet access is from his sisters house,,I met Durwood (duwayne) on the internet ..probably 8-10 yrs. ago we found out we lived about 12-15 miles apart..and started meeting for breakfast on sat. mornings..he has become one of my best friend since,,,and almost like family..Great guy...B,

Maybe he was staying with his sister at the time when he told me he wasn't so well, back then.
Yup, he and I were supposed to meet at a restaurant in Lima (The Old Barn Out Back).. but we never managed to get together at the time, and I don't remember why.
It's good to have found a friend on the forums who is so close in proximity too!

Sorry to hear about Durwood. As a diabetic I know that the disease is not something to be trifled with and the consequences affect so many other organs and functions in the body.

I had called Dur earlier this afternoon and it went to his voice mail.
He called me back a couple of hours ago, but had to cut the call short, as the nurses were in the room spoiling him.
He said he'd give me a ring back around 9, so I am on call. lol
He sounded great (considering) and laughed a lot.
Said I didn't sound like he expected.
I guess I was supposed to sound like a rum soaked pirate er sumthin'
On the other hand, he talks fast!
Perhaps that was from the excitement of having the nurses in the room.
Think I'll tell him he missed his true calling.. that being an auctioneer..
He called me back a couple of hours ago, but had to cut the call short, as the nurses were in the room spoiling him.

His admission was because of congestive heart failure.
They've wrapped his legs and got him on Lasix, started out at 40 now back to 80.
Blood sugar has been running on the high side, but not all that high.
He underwent a cardiac stress test and failed it right away.
May have to have a heart cath/stents depending on further tests.
He may get released on Thursday if they get the fluids under control, then will have to go back for the cath.
He's in good spirits!

He said he'll try to get on the internet at his sister's place on Thursday or so (depending on how things go) and let us know how he's doing then.

Update from Dur..
Well, i got home earlier today after eating lunch. My kidney numbers are not good. They are supposed to be under 150 and they are over 3000, which means they are letting lots more bad stuff thru them then what is supposed to be. My heart is enlarged for some reason. They cannot get up into it to check it out until my kidneys are stronger cos they wouldn't be able to take it. So i am feeling 100 times better then i did but still continue to need ur prayers. thanks so much

Gone But Not Forgotten
I'm alive and fine so far and thank for all the prayers and the calls from u PG. Yes, u still don't sound like i thought u would. Heck, i thought some little sweet 18 year old girl was calling me till u told me who u were. lol My problems are all self inflicted from not taking care of myself. My wake up call was the night before coming home from the hospital my new room mate was in to get more of his foot taken off from sugar ...after they had taken some off two months ago ,but it wasn't enough. He is the only one of 7 siblings to live past 50 and he was 51. Sugar and cancer got them all he said. He had one brother who lost both legs and an arm to sugar before dying. Well, i decided right then that just wasn't gonna happen to me. I feel better then i have in 2 years and i plan on staying this way. Thanks also to Byron for checking on me and asking for prayers for me. It is nice to know u have good friends to depend on.I gotta go now but i wanted to say thanks and i'll try to check back in later this week. Thanks again for all ur prayers and friendship.
