DIY snowcat build

Lots of load at low speed is a challenge to keep any snow cat from overheating, especially the cab over type.
Well, my build was an oversight. It's hard to think far enough ahead to plan out all the nuances. I made an error and mounted the radiator in a really stupid spot and it was literally blowing hot air right into the air intake for the engine/carbs. I've moved it to outside clean air, and will be adding two big 10" fans to pull heat out further. I think that will fix it. Might also make a cold air intake snorkel of sorts for the engine intake.

Hindsight is tough, especially when you build something in 4-5 months with no blueprint to follow. But that's also the fun part. Tweaking things towards success.

Another *mistake* or opportunity for improvement over the snow folks ignore is humidity. Many folks complain about carbuerators and points when the problem is this giant heat source surrounded by frozen water. Latent moisture and a lack of understanding catches many folks *not aviators* by surprise.

I am really liking your reports.
Im futzing with an air cooled imp. (To avoid the prep i should be doing) And this is my first snowcat experience, that is light enough to actually feel the diff over powering the nonbraked side of the chunk.
When i apply the stick, sometimes the traction of the rig is less than needed to force the planetarys into action. And it turns really quick. As the spiders over run and double the driven or non braked side.
