Wowzers. You're one lucky guy to come out of that one. Reminds me of afew of the accidents dad had when he was hauling logs on the back roads. One in particular ended very similarly to yours. Coming down an icy hill with a full load of 8ft and there's a single lane bridge at the bottom with a 100 ft drop on each side down to the river and a grader blocking the bridge. Can't stop on the icy hill with that much weight pushing you and taking the ditch on either side would have got him into the river with a load of wood on top of him. He figured the grader moves so best to hit that and take a chance. The engine ended up pushed back into the cab. Fuel pedal was bent right back pointed toward the back of the cab. Only thing that saved him was the heavy duty cab sheild that stopped the logs from crushing the cab.
