Yemen's HOUTHI militia, which basically has taken over the nation's rule, has been attacking commercial ships on the Red Sea preventing many from using the Suez Canal. It has cost the US and European economies multi-billions of dollars. It also has collapsed revenues to Egypt, which controls the Suez, and Egypt gets a lot of aid from the US and often assists US and European nations with issues in the reason.

So now we are in a military 'skirmish' with a technologically & militarily equipped band of 9th century savages.

The Houthis are funded, trained and armed by Iran. So this is a proxy war with Iran. Iran has received direct warnings against intervention. Iran was specifically told to stop funding and arming Houthis immediately.

Trump Orders New Large Scale Strikes On Iran-Backed Houthis In Yemen​

Days ago Yemen's Houthis announced they are resuming attacks on Red Sea shipping over Israel's failure to fully open humanitarian aid corridors into the Gaza Strip.​

But President Trump has responded preemptively by on Saturday ordering a series of new airstrikes on Yemen’s capital, Sanaa. The US commander-in-chief was warned he'll continuing using "overwhelming lethal force" until the Iranian-backed Houthi completely halt their attacks.​

The Houthis, known officially as the Ansar Allah movement, said that 15 people died in an updated figure, as a result of Saturday's wave of US airstrikes.​

Huge explosions were heard and witnessed in the capital in the northern province of Saada. Black smoke was seen over the Sanaa airport complex, which reportedly also hosts a very large military site.​

“Our brave Warfighters are right now carrying out aerial attacks on the terrorists’ bases, leaders, and missile defenses to protect American shipping, air, and naval assets, and to restore Navigational Freedom,” Trump had continued in a post on Truth Social.​

"No terrorist force will stop American commercial and naval vessels from freely sailing the Waterways of the World."​

He used to opportunity to also put Iran on notice, saying it will be held "fully accountable" for any aggression of its proxy in Yemen.​

Ansar Allah's leader last just Friday had declared a four-day deadline before attacks on shipping would resume. That four day timeline had ended by close of Tuesday, which means the Red Sea could be soon fiery scene of drone and missile attacks out of Yemen once again.​

Since 2023 over 100 missile and drone attacks on commercial vessels have occurred in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden. The Houthis have also downed several MQ-9 Reaper drones operated by the Pentagon.​

A US-led naval coalition which began under the Biden administration has been able to do nothing in terms of putting a dent in Houthi capabilities, even after several bombing raids on Yemen, also at times including Israeli and UK jets. The pattern has been that the Houthis have only upped their attacks after US and Israeli coalition raids.​

War like it needs to be fought is a long dead remnant of history. But when an entire civilization is hostile towards freedom and peace, sometimes they must be so soundly defeated in battle that their hearts open to new possibilities. This should not be understated or overlooked. We have several rebel nations in this world, both in the middle east and also in Africa, where literal savages run the nations. They need to be taken to the woodshed, with extreme predjudice, to put a stop, for at least another generation or two, to their tyrannical murder cults.

And we need to start the carpet bombing before the brave aviators of the HOUTHI air assault forces launch their next attack on the US Carrier Group Truman.




But no doubt the brave soldiers are no different than the other savages in the middle east.

No backing down. No quarter given. Overwhelming force. I think it was Bush 1, a despicable President to my mind, but I believe he popularized the term "shock & awe" and that needs to be the sirens clarion call of the day.






It does seem, at least superficially, that IRAN is listening.

Iran is already under threats of retaliation from Israel. Which has US backing. Very likely the bearded mullahs are already afraid to go to bed at night. Trump, with his action against the HOUTHI savages, also sent a very stern warning to Iran. Maybe sleeping with both eyes open will be required tonight while they attempt to rest in their bunkers.

 
And the Pentagon attacks have resumed.

Update(2125ET): In the overnight hours (local), the US military has launched what appears to be a second wave of airstrikes on Yemen. US Central Command posted a new video Sunday saying that operations "continue"...​

Yemen's Health Ministry now says that 32 people, including children, died after Saturday's major US airstrikes pounded Sanaa, with President Donald Trump warning the Houthis not to attack ships passing through the Red Sea.​

But on Sunday, that's precisely what the Houthis did: a Houthi military announcement claimed the group carried out "a qualitative operation" on the US aircraft carrier Harry S Truman. "Our forces targeted the Truman aircraft carrier with 18 ballistic and cruise missiles and a drone," a spokesman said.​

Nasruddin Amer, deputy head of the Houthi media office, described that Saturday's US air strikes - which reportedly hit some 170 sites - won’t deter the Shia armed group back by Iran. ​

A subsequent Fox report said that US warships shot down any inbound Houthi drones, and that they were not a serious threat.​

Saturday's strike on Yemen not only resulted in civilian deaths, but a reported over 100 injured, as President Trump vowed to “use overwhelming lethal force” while warning Iran to "immediately" cut its support.​

"Your time is up, and your attacks must stop, starting today. If they don’t, hell will rain down upon you like nothing you have ever seen before," the president said on Truth Social.​

"I have ordered the US military today to launch a decisive and powerful military operation against the Houthi terrorists in Yemen,” he said, adding that he's willing to use "overwhelming lethal force until we have achieved our objective."

Does anyone else find it disturbing that the drones or missiles being fired on us are intercepted yards away from the ship(s) as opposed to miles away?
I can see if it's sea whiz that's taking them out but if we're intercepting with missiles of our own, I'd expect it to happen very far away.

I've been looking at the pic thinking it's AI generated. Maybe just posting "ideas" of how the system may work.
Those propaganda videos are funny. The ship designs are totally fake or go back to pre-WW2 designs. :)

The crowd in this video is armed.

Seems like a target rich environment to me.

Why deny them that for which they ask?

Honestly the west has lost the will to wage a just and proper war.

This would end faster and with less collateral damage and collateral casualties if we simply followed through with some mass casualty events when the brave soldiers of Yemen mass up in large groups for their violent armed protests. Literally a couple dozen A10s and some higher altitude bombs would "resolve" 75% of this problem in short order.

 
Well it looks like President Trump is not backing off.

"Complete annihilation" of the Houthis.

But it strikes me that they are just going after infrastructure to reduce their ability to attack. Until they are rearmed. Then they will attack again. If we only take out equipment, and perhaps leadership positions, there will still be plenty of brave soldiers to rattle their AKs and launch the next salvos, even if disorganized, when the Iranians arm them again. Why not wipe out the foot soldiers too?
