I'm not so sure Don. I've looked closely at a regular cab and compared it to the "THE PICTURE":bigMoon: and it looks like the cab is shorter. Look how close the back window is to the corner of the cab compared to a regular, definently shorter. I relies this require looking closely at the photo, which is almost like welding without a hood, but give it a try.

Hey Benz9 could you possibly work your computer magic and erase the naked Norwegian from that photo? I don't like it when my wife catches me staring at the picture.:w00t2:

I'll admit I don't know all the details of the Snow Trac but I almost bought what might have been the last new one available, at least in Alaska, back in 1990 from the guy who sold them in Anchorage. I knew I wanted a snowcat to combat the deep snow we were getting back then and found a dealer for the Snow Trac in the yellow pages. I met the gentleman at is place off of Muldoon and he was going out of business but had one last Snow Master Demo for sale. We test drove it but he politely refused to let me drive it down the local bike path as he explained the steering system could be easily damaged if you tried turning before you were rolling. That was ok by me as I did't want to pay $26,000 for a new broken machine.

After we discussed what my intended purpose was for a snowcat and the fact the one he had was outside my budget he talked me out of buying it. I found a real nice Bombie though with winter tracks that served me well for many years.

you'r right the back corner of the cab is squared up if the cab was shoortened it was only by 8 inches or so don't know what you would gain. My guess is it has the ambulance door in it because all other denensoions look about right, the tall cabs did appear shorter and the picture may also have a bit of fish eye effect from the lens it was taken with, if some one could photo shop out the naked guy i might look a little harder.
