I am planning a mountain trip, went to start the track van and no go. Was able to troubleshoot it down to a bad in tank fuel pump. Bought a universal replacement pump that will be here in a few days. Dropping the tank was a PITA and concidered putting one on the frame and delete the in tank pump but that would be more work and I’m not sure what pump to use, so I’ll keep it OE
Supercharged 3 cylinder makes 84hp and about the same torque, 4 speed transmission with hi-lo transfer case. It weighs 1500#, with the tracks on it the ground pressure is .68 which is very good. There are no belts and chains in the drive system, real transmission, clutch, transfer case and differentials with gears. It does very well in the snow and has plenty of power. The quality is as good as any Japanese vehicle, just smaller. When you sit in it, it doesn’t feel cramped like a ranger or razor, actually feels like my Nissan frontier with the steering wheel on the wrong side. They are made by all of the major auto companies in Japan, Suzuki, Honda and Mitsubishi. In Japan they are daily driver vehicles. How they end up over here is as they get older the registration keeps getting more expensive as an incentive to get a new one. Off road with comforts, it even has A/C.
Planning a mountain trip pretty soon, I really like this van over the truck for cabin access.
It’s small but roomy at the same time with all the comforts that a car has, this is a camper van so the rear seats fold up and leave room for two normal size adults to sleep comfortably it has bows stored on the sides that you assemble with a cloth cover that makes a tent that blocks the windows. This unit even has A/C and a power sun roof. When I got it I bought a new timing belt and water pump and haven’t installed them, so before I go I plan to do both as it’s 2 things that are simple maintenance that could leave you stranded. I feel better with the new fuel pump too.
