According to official data, the land area of Canada is 3,855,103 square miles, while the United States is slightly smaller at 3,794,083 square miles. This makes Canada about 1.6% larger than the United States in terms of land area.
For the record;
Canada is only slightly larger in land mass to the USA. Some 61,102 square miles.
That is until we buy the island of Greenland.
One more reason why we should do so.
The reason Canada looks bigger on the maps is the way maps are printed setting the time zones as rectangles from the equator to the poles. This expands the appearance on paper maps as you go north. Look at a globe.
