It is worse than theft. It is a deception by a government we should be able to trust.
Social Security is based on two lies.
1) The funds are there, held in your name, to assist your Retirment. Assuming you live to collect.
2) Your employer is required to match you contribution with his, out of his pocket.
Neither is true.
Since the finds go in to the general government account, it is not your money but a tax.
It is not 7.5% of your pay. It is instead 15% of what the employer pays you. The employer simply pays you less of a salary so he can afford the "gift' of his contribution.
So those who believe they are in a 20% tax bracket are actually at 35%. Anyone who is paid so low they have no income tax debt are actually taxed at 15% of their wages.
SS is a Ponzi scheme.

TAXES: The unintended victims of Kamala Harris's tax plan are some of her biggest supporters like @selenagomez.
If Harris is able to pass her unrealized gains tax plan Selena might be forced to sell her beauty brand just to pay the taxes she'd owe on its unrealized value. The impact on Gomez is just the tip of the iceberg. Taylor Swift's tax liability might be closer to a billion dollars - a bill that would force her to sell her music catalog.
