Having the critter cam photo is awesome. Let's hope the judge throws the book at that scumbag.
[As an aside: It seems most judges are not "motor-heads" and don't understand the value of such a project. They look at the photos of a vehicle such as yours Dave, and think it's little more than junk. I wonder if some affidavits from forum members who have done restorations on older Sno-Cats testifying as to the dollar value of a restored machine would be helpful in getting the thief a longer sentence?]

So, my wife is officially a judge!
The good thing was that the detective for my case actually did some research on what a restored son-cat may be worth. They had it listed at $25,000 from day one. So hopefully that gives him one additional poke in his screwing.

Well, after three years, this has finally worked it's way thru the court system.
So tomorrow I get the joy of spending the morning (or longer) in the lovely hamlet of Lowell, MA at the district court house (I'll be lucky if my truck doesn't get stolen . . .). Should be fun having breakfast with the crack / heroin addicts.
Hopefully Asshat #1 gets the full screwing he deserves.

Lowell, Lawrence, and note far behind inner Haverhill is not quite there but trending. These cities are not the textile, industrial, or shoe city worker community they once were. Only thing that keeps Haverhill for being a total shit hole is the open land outside the inner city.

ive not had the greatest of luck on my Thiokol with foam filling my tire distributor says they need to be filled to operating pressure. most machines have a kick off at 45 psi and low tire pressure is kind of like having a untied shoe. with snow tracs being so light they should work well but you are going to pay a weight penalty

They should be mounted and left for 24 hours if new to stretch then filled to proper rated Pressure. We have filled over 100 (140-160 )psi with no problems on tires rated that high Like the 14 ply used on the big groomers

I should have you do my next set the ones I got last winter are pretty soft
That was like the side show at the circus.
Be there at 8:30 to get in the door (which won’t happen due to waiting for everyone to actually do as instructed to get thru the one metal detector). So there was a line of about 80 people waiting to get in. Check in w/ the clerk & grab a seat. Wait until 9:05 for the judge to finally be ready to take ‘role call’ of the days cases. Mine is actually read seventh or eighth (in a stack of folders that has to be 60 deep). Dismissals, continuances, no shows, lawyer delays, paperwork transfer delays, innocent pleas scheduled for trial, guilty pleas w/ sentencing or restitutions ordered, etc. Complete chaos, but the clerk of court is keeping everything orderly & flowing. 80% of the lawyers are public defendants and under 26 y/o, so it’s like the law version of Greys Anatomy, all there just doing their time at the bottom.
After role call (30 minutes) a recess is called. After 5 minutes a different judge comes back in, issues in a jury of seven, listens to about 4 minutes of banter between the lawyers, then sends the jury back out to finish their deliberations. Then the court is put to recess again and after 5 minutes the first judge comes back in. (???) She starts hearing cases until it’s time for yet another recess at 10:15. Apparently the front chair can only have an ass in it for 30 minutes at a time? The DA pulls me aside and can’t figure out why his lawyer is even bothering to fight this instead of just having the court tie it in with time served (6-8 years for probation weapons possession charges). Yet another 15 minutes & the judge comes back. They work thru another 10 cases (must have started from the bottom or are picking cases randomly?) and finally mine comes up. They transfer it to a different court room. Wtf.
So, I go find this court room across the building which is packed as well. 11:00 am. I listen to judgement on a credit card fraud issue (guy steals a lady’s CC & goes on a spending spree). Year probation, repay the bank, & write an apology letter(seriously). A DWI issue that can’t be resolved and gets rolled to a future date w/ jury. Another DWI where the poor fellow apparently started drinking at 4pm, but by the time of his accident (slamming & rolling another car merging on I-495 just after midnight) had only had 3-4 beers. Which then according to the Commonwealth recounting the LEO questioning at the time increased to 4-5, then finally settling on “around 5”. (Personal note: it was never mentioned how many shots he had to wash those pesky beers down). Alas, he had failed the field sobriety test miserably, not only by not walking the line, but failing to balance with both of his feet. They posted his BAC at .248 He was trying to get out of the county farm so he could go back to work until his trial date, but was denied. Back to busting rocks. A guy from the urban housing area that is having a dispute w/ his tenant that is chucking his trash out the back window (3rd floor) into the alley instead of taking it to the provided dumpster (that for some reason couldn’t be solved with the mediator in the hallway so now it has to take up court time???). Court date assigned.
Finally my douchebag is ushered in wearing sweats & full prison jewelry. His lawyer states that where the Tucker was parked was considered a common dumping area, and that his client thought the machine had been abandoned. Even with the Keep Out signs. The state immediately informs her that not only is it private property, but there are pics of her client sneaking away with the goods at 4am. She requests time being served also be taken into consideration for this. Commonwealth agrees, judge agrees, douchebag agrees & is escorted back out of the room. Full time 5 minutes and no witness even called.
So I burned 4 hours of my life, $5 in parking and gas just because Mr. Douchebag wanted to take a ride in the county paddy wagon and tie up everyone’s time!
I will say this- if any of you have kids that are giving you any trouble, spend one morning and take them to a district court in the biggest town (city preferably) near you. All you would need is 4 hours and the comment “straighten up or these will be your new friends” to fix your problem.
