Prayers For Redneck's Mother

All past indifferences aside:

I was just speaking to AW/Cory in PM.
She is at the hospital right now with her Mother-in-law, Larry's (Redneck's) Mother.
Mama was first admitted to the hospital because of Thrombocytopenia-low blood platelet count.
They got the count back up and released her to a rehab unit in a nursing facility.
She was there a mere 3 hours, got up, fell and broke her hip.
Now she's back in the hospital awaiting surgery as we speak.
It would be nice if you all joined me in well wishes for them all.
Thanks!

Cory and Larry,

Sorry to hear about Larry's mother. I will be thinking of her in my prayers.

More prayers comin' from the not-so-frozen-North. Best wishes for a recovery, and for Larry and Corey, comfort and strength for the coming days.

Thanks everyone for the prayers and well wishes....It's finally quieted down, and Larry's Momma is out and doing ok for and 81 yearold woman with Alzheimer's and dementia. I am staying with her tonight in the hospital. Now that she made it thru and is passed out with the pain meds everybody has gone home. Our fears now are that she will sail down hill mentally after this. She already had Alzheimer's and dementia but the Alzheimer's part hasn't been too bad. But I'm sure it will be now.

Like I told you Cory, sometimes there is a bit of a decline after a surgery such as this one.
Sometimes not!
I've seen it go both ways.
Hope for the best, and as you said, "just love her and keep her"

I have a feeling of what you're going through due to my wifes grandmother.

My prayers are with your family.

Yea, what Cory said. I don't know what we would do without her, Cory is another daughter to my Mama. NOT the 'typical' daughter-in-law, to be sure. There has sure been trying times, my Ma hasn't been known to be the easiest person to like- she gets real 'catty' at times. But Cory has stood right by my side, and now is one of the brightest spots in Mama's life. AW can get her to do things I can't-and that's saying something.
Again, in public, I say "Cory, THANK YOU."

And to each of you that have, and will, send prayers our way, I also say a heart-felt

'THANK YOU' :flowers:

Galvatron, that means a lot coming from you . All I can think of, is if you'd come over & mow the yard, then hook the 'Bota up to the bush-hog & mow the grove for me. I've got 'em both fueled up & ready for ya.

I'm new here, but just want to say all three of you are in my prayers.
Your Mom is very fortunate to have someone she trusts with her at all times. It can be hard on the caregivers. The worst part is that the caregiver won't realize the toll it takes on them until they have time to stop.
The thought of the DIL of a catty MIL ending up being the caregiver she trusts most just goes to show us our actions could come back to haunt us. Your Mom is blessed. I don't know if I could be that forgiving.

....I'm not gett'in that mushy in front of all these people:mrgreen: (too many voyeurs here)......but, if it weren't for your Momma you wouldn't be the man you are. So I owe her a lot

Galvi you were a big help the other day just for making small talk with the kids. You kept them occupied so they didn't feed off my stress, and made them laugh instead of worry. I never dreamed I would meet a friend that could help on the other side of the globe from me.

Your momma is in my throughts and prayers.
Best Wishes for your whole family Cory and Larry.

ANy update? I just found this thread. Hope she is doing MUCH better! :ermm:
She's doing pretty good for what she's been thru. They had her setting up on side of the bed earlier this afternoon, but still not able to put any weight on it. She's starting to eat, a little, and is more alert than she's been for a couple days. We still have a l-o-n-g road ahead of us, but "the journey of a thousand miles starts with one step". Will try to keep updated as we have something to tell. In the mean time, all prayers greatly appreciated!

Sorry guy's but I only just found this thread myself . AW , redneck , your mum and your family are all in my thoughts and prayers , hope your mum has as good a recovery as can be expected . Hang in there and keep each other close .

Thanks. Prayers are still needed!
Mom had a couple bad days, seems like the meds and/or anesthesia had her real lethargic for a couple days. She seems to be coming out of the fog some now. She's setting up in a chair a couple hours a day now, but still not walking. She's still real weak, but is starting to eat more, and with more prayers and Gods will, she'll be out of the hospital & in a re-hab (again) in a couple more days.

Sending more prayers your way. Thanks for the update. Make sure you and AW take care of yourselves too.
