Porcupines

Gone But Not Forgotten
Damn thing climbed up the tree by the fish pond. 10 ft. away from the dog kennel. Jack russel is going out of his mind. Tried to get pics but black at night up in a very leafy tree showed nothing.

I told the wife if the dog did not stop his screaming by 11 either the porcupine or the dog would be shot. He must have finally got down and left by 10:30. Maybe he was looking for water? They usually don't come close to the house but things are really dry right now. By the way I use a .410 if they are up in a tree.:whistling:

They aren't bad eating btw . You gotta slow roast them . Basically you roast them like you do a hog in a pit. Put them on an oak board , wrap it all in two layers of foil . Place it in the charcoal pit for 10-12 hours . Dig it out, remove the foil ,scape the porcupine off ,and eat the board .

He was out in the driveway yesterday so the wife got a few pics.
