Picture Hosting

Gone But Not Forgotten
What does everyone here use. I just created a Flicker one and not sure I like it. What is everyone else using here?

I use Picasa , It also makes it easier to upload them to your computer . using sites like some people do when their account expires the sites no longer support or will show the pics that have been posted in forums .

Heres a link . http://picasa.google.com/

Photobucket
No offence Dawg , but you can go back in older threads where folks used photobucket & the pics are no longer there . Kind of makes some threads useless without pics IMO .

Unless its changed now photobucket used to be the worst site , once again just my opinion

You have to leave the pictures in the album it was originated from. If you move the pictures to a different album or remove them entirely they won't match the URL you posted.

I guess I actually had an account with photobucket from some time ago. I went there and logged in with my favorite ID and password and went right in. I moved one of my pic's from one place to another and it told me all links to that picture would be lost if I continued with the move. Since I have one a photo bucket I will just stay there.

I don't host them.
I attach them directly from my documents.
Same here PG , I only use Picasa to edit some of the pics as well as it makes it easier for me to upload them to my puter .

If you host pics through photobucket they are public domain no matter if you have it set to private . There are several hack sites that do nothing but get into private albums to post personal photos on the net in not so nice places .

Its gotten really bad in the last 5 years or so because artists/custom painters that use photobucket to host there artwork are having their work stolen & posted on other artists websites claiming the work to be their own . :hammer:

There is nothing that can be done legally because photobucket owns the rights to the pics they host . Probablly dont matter to many here , but I would be very carefull of hosting your childrens photo's through photo sharing sites because they are also hacked by pedophiles . :hammer:

So what some of you think might be the best, sure aint the smartest or safest

I don't host my pics with any of those sites but my niece does. She uses Snapfish. http://www.snapfish.com/snapfish/welcome

Like others, you can host as many pics as you want plus they will provide prints. But the best feature is that you can create a book or photoalbum using your photos, their artwork, type in any story you want ...so as much print as you want. Really cool. She has created wedding books, baby books, birthday books, family books etc. All look so professional but are very personal. Really slick.
