The founding fathers are spinning in their graves when they look down and see the type of perks that the legislatures have provided for themselves. I doubt that the founding fathers had any intention of the pork barrel politics that our nation has become. I know of no other job that people will willfully spend millions of their own $$$$ to get elected to a job that pays a measly $250,000. It isn't the salary, but the perks that they get for life that make it a worth while investment.......pension..... health care.... etc.

Remember when Bush started the Tax Cuts after he took office. There was a break down of how much Tax would be saved by each member of the President's cabinet vs how much would be saved by a typical American.

check this out.

I like most Americans received about $600 that year.
Woah Hooo!!! ...and let me tell you did that $600 go a long ways to simulating the economy. I am sure the members of Presidents cabinate, went and spent their check right away on stimulating the economy too!! I am sure of it.

Bob, how much did you get that year and what did you spend it on?? Or did you put it away in your checking account to pay for bills that you already had like most Americans?

Dean,

I am only 33 years old.. my memory has not started to decay just yet..

but I still don't understand your point to your reference.
maybe you can "explain it to me" because you sure are not "understanding it to me".

Just for you Alex, I will try to help you understand it for you!!

You have posted on numerous occasions various comments directed specifically to me that can only be construed as provoking (cute as you see them perhaps)!

Your words: (just one example ) ""If I told you that I was a tree hugging flag burning homosexual draft dodger hippie that graduated from an ivy league school and made his fortune during the dot come days and has never worked a day in his life ........ would that push the right buttons?
:Peace::Peace::Peace::Peace::Peace::Peace::Peace:: Peace::Peace::Peace:"

In the above phrase you asked for a response from me, did you not?

Response given: "

Your much more intelligent than that!!

Enough is enough!!

Anywhere on TV you will find left bias... no exceptions.

Don't you think you are stretching the statement above a bit? The statement that corporate funded and OWNED networks favor the left is very unlikely. Just who pays there bills and salaries over there??

To me it seems like as soon as you get wind of truthful reporting which may seem to agree with statements made by the left, all the sudden makes the TV network a "left" biased network.

when all you are used to is using a hammer, everything looks lilke a nail.

As your friend ArchDean would say "try to keep an open mind".

help??? anyone understand any of this??? hello? I think there is a weak connection here someplace which is making communication incoherent.

you give me too much credit for being as intelligent as you think I am. I am not sure how intelligent I have to be, or the type of intelligence I need to have in order to understand anything you have said above. Perhaps drugs are the answer. what meds do you recommend that I take in order to make sense your statements? oh maybe, I should start by taking the meds that you are taking.

Alex, just what is it about the word 'Enough" that you are having such a difficult time understanding?

Dean
Sorry Dean.. I didn't understand what you meant by "Enough is Enough".
I am telling you.. we really need a White Flag icon.

as they say.. a picture says a 1000 words. The universal language.

I can't help to wonder if you like to say "Enough is Enough" when it is convenient for you.

Why do you keep at it? Especially when it was you that asked me to stop?
do you have no shame?

Sit down and grab a sense of humor Alex, it was meant with all good intentions and It should be clear to anyone I at least TRY to give as good as I get!!

I don't want to get involved in this dialogue the two of you are having and I wasn't even going to post, but I am a very curious guy. How are white flags and sandals synonymous (I even tried looking it up on Google!)?

BoneHead,

I would guess you are looking in the wrong place for a correlation. I am sure ArchDean has some literature which can put the two in the same boat for all of us.

Or maybe because of the fact that apologized to him to other day and said that I was wrong. Something he has never done to anyone from what I can tell. In reference to that Germay was involved in 12/7 thread that OkeeDon did such a good job debunking.

btw, if you didn't catch it the "French" reference was to WWII.

Dean,

just so you know I really did ask for my posts to be deleted because I thought that I had crossed the line and was being a jerk to you. However, to my surprise the request was not honored. If you think really really hard about it, you might figure out why that was. Sometimes it takes two jerks to start an arguement.

Try Googleing In French!!;) BH

Listen, I have been to France and while they wear sandals there, they wear them everywhere else in the world. So is that it-are sandals supposed to symbolize the French? Where does that come from?

You have to be on the inside to understand the lingo. It is intended to be like that to keep all the outsiders on the outside so the rest of those on the inside can continue to play without interference. Just think of "One Flew Over The Coo Coo's Nest ". I see this whole thread as a trivial annoyance rather than having any profound effect on anyones life. Possibly we might have to set up another forum for these people to play in....:tiphat:

That's me! That's me! Except I never dodged the draft- I have in-floor heat. Oh, and I'm not gay, but I do watch Queer Eye for the Straight Guy (does that count?). And my schools weren't ivy league- that stuff won't grow very well on buildings on the west coast.

Bonehead

HAHA!! I've been to Seattle and Portland...that might not be Ivy, but it sure as hell could be moss!
