Thanks guys....got the call just after 12 mid day....i just feel lost....empty....knew it was coming but eh it just has left me as i say lost and empty.

I am so sorry to hear about Vera, but thank you for all you folks did for her while she was alive. You can choose your friends, but not your family. My Mother's name was Vera also, my thoughts are with you at this sad time.

Final update.....Just got the call i was expecting to come....Vera passed away lunch time today.

Galve, ya have my prayers. I know from experience the mixed emotions, going to miss a loved one, but at the same time, knowing they are finally at rest, and no longer in pain. God bless you for caring for Vera as you have.

no matter how long you have to get used to the idea or prepare for the inevitable, it's always a shock when it happens - and you'll spend some time feeling her absence kind of like a missing tooth.
for a while, all you can think about is the absence.
then it hurts
then it goes a bit numb
eventually, you'll still know it's missing, but it'll just be a part of you.

you're right that you'll miss her, just think about the good times and how she's not in pain any more - it won't help you feel any better, really, but at least you won't feel as bad.
