They got the shingles on the upper level roof, visqueened over the openings and ran kerosene torpedo heaters to dry it out. Today we finally got the concrete floor poured, its the first day above freezing and its the first day that they are sure that nothing can drip down from above if we get any more snow, sleet, ice, etc. So we got concrete. FINALLY. Its all sealed off now with the visqueen plastic and the kerosene heaters are running on low (until they run out of fuel). Now we can get the interior walls build on the lower level for the bathrooms, utility room, foyer, etc. Windows will be installed by Monday, then we can get a furnace running, even if only to keep the temperatures inside at 40 to 45 degrees!!! These guys have been out there in sub-zero (F) temps several days and single digit days quite a few times since this project started. I've been plowing out a rough driveway and trying to keep the area cleared in/around the work areas.
The neighbor has not waved at me since constuction started. This is about 45' from his driveway. I think he now realizes there will be a new fence erected along the stakes that are separating my yard from what he thought was his property. The septic field we put in behind this new garage is right where he planned to put a swimming pool a few years ago before I showed him that he was going to put his pool on my land.
