Old Caboose wood stove?

My father in law is a retired rail road engineer, his father worked the same rail road before him, now I and an engineer there. The other day he took me into his basement to show me his old caboose wood stove to see if I wanted it. There are casting marks on the top and No.8 and on the other 81 also, and door on top front marked HOT WATER LAUNDRY (It has a water jacket) I'm wondering if any one can identify the maker and date it was made and if it really is a caboose stove.
