I believe Harris did win the debate. She baited Trump and he rose to it. Trump often went off into the weeds with his responses.
He did land a few good punches, but she was a relentless prosecutor continually putting him on the defensive and preventing him from making his case.
So, I say she won the debate.
That doesn't mean she will win the election.
Trump has 50 or so days to get his message out. I suggest he stay positive, even in his advertisements.
Trump cannot attack their policies with any success, as they have published nothing but vapors. Attacking their persons is fruitless.
The bottom line is from President Reagan and was successful.
"Are you better off today that four years ago?"
Put another way, "Did the Biden-Harris administration improve your life?"
How many can honestly say yes?
I think you're right about the bottom line question: Are you better off today compared to four years ago? And that question was posed to Harris early in the debate by the moderators, but she didn't answer it, and
the moderators did not follow up with her to get an answer. They let her dodge the questions, but they did push Trump several times on his, which brings me to my point.
The leftist, legacy media is covering for Harris because they want her to win. That debate on ABC really was three on one, so sure, you can say Harris won, but that's like saying that sports team A won over sports team B, even though the referees for the game were pulling for, and making calls in the favor of, sports team A. Of course they would win. It was fixed. So, the "win" really doesn't mean much, except in the eyes of those who are ignorantly unaware that it was fixed.
That said, I would like to see Trump and Harris debate again, but this time without moderators who are biased in favor of Harris. I know Trump said he wouldn't do another debate, but I'm hoping that's a negotiation tactic where, after the Harris team predictably calls Trump "scared" to debate again, he can come back with something like, "Okay, I'll debate again, but let's do it on Fox News" or some other conservative platform. Then it's her move. She can't claim that it wouldn't be fair after she got her way with the debate on ABC with him, so then she'd have to agree, or look like the "scared" one.
Then, we'll see if she gets pressed on answering that question you posed, or this one: If your values haven't changed, why do you claim your positions have changed? And when she tries to dodge, they ask again, and again, until she is either forced to answer it, or it becomes crystal clear that she is DODGING.
