Official ABC News "Trump - Harris Debate" discussion thread

Fact Checking ABC News . . .
Post Birth Abortions (letting newborns die) if that is what the mother wants...

And 8 children born were allowed to die in Minnesota

No one within reason can win a debate that was as biased toward one candidate over another as the one last night. Impossible. Lie upon lie was perpetuated upon Trump with zero fact checking or accountability toward his opponent.

Could Trump have done better. Yes. Once he realized the moderators were a joke and not doing their job, he needed to do it for them and ignore the KamelKommie's attacks. Even high school debates are much better run.

I think the Trump team may have underestimated how badly and unprofessional ABC would conduct this debate. I dunno.

I couldn't watch the entire thing and went to bed early. The very first question Harris didn't even answer. Why didn't they ask her the question again so she would actually answer it? Maybe because it would hurt her.

The moderators had no business getting involved as they did because it was an insult to the viewers. Let the two sides debate each other.
Yes, the moderators were clearly on Harris' side. They "fact checked" Trump multiple times, even though at least some of these so called "fact checks" were not factual. Meanwhile, they let Harris get away with several inaccurate statements. For example, the moderators didn't say a word when Harris reiterated the long debunked "fine people" line, or that Trump supports Project 2025, among other lies. The moderators did their best to ensure the public perception of the debate would be that Harris won.

The Democrats will never, never, never, ever participate in a debate where they view the moderators as unfriendly, let alone the travesty we all witnessed last night. It was the worst run presidential debate since my first one I ever watched, Kennedy v. Nixon 1960.

I am no political scientist, but I have watched more than a few over the years and this debate is in a league of its own.

Almost a day later, looking back it is very obvious the debate was rigged and she was fed all the questions ahead of time. The woman could never put a sentence together and sound coherent. Suddenly, boom, she is fluent and talking a storm.

But, that's OK because all that matters now is Trump scored big on the Economy, Inflation, Crime and the Border.

Real people feel this way too.

Seems like all the 'reliable' media sources are saying Harris won.
Seems like the "undecided" voters who watched are favoring Trump, based on several reports I saw today.

I swear I heard her say O'biden a natural obama, biden slip or a muted JOe-biden I don't care.... I heard her say obiden

I believe Harris did win the debate. She baited Trump and he rose to it. Trump often went off into the weeds with his responses.

He did land a few good punches, but she was a relentless prosecutor continually putting him on the defensive and preventing him from making his case.

So, I say she won the debate.
That doesn't mean she will win the election.
Trump has 50 or so days to get his message out. I suggest he stay positive, even in his advertisements.

Trump cannot attack their policies with any success, as they have published nothing but vapors. Attacking their persons is fruitless.

The bottom line is from President Reagan and was successful.
"Are you better off today that four years ago?"

Put another way, "Did the Biden-Harris administration improve your life?"

How many can honestly say yes?

I think you're right about the bottom line question: Are you better off today compared to four years ago? And that question was posed to Harris early in the debate by the moderators, but she didn't answer it, and the moderators did not follow up with her to get an answer. They let her dodge the questions, but they did push Trump several times on his, which brings me to my point.

The leftist, legacy media is covering for Harris because they want her to win. That debate on ABC really was three on one, so sure, you can say Harris won, but that's like saying that sports team A won over sports team B, even though the referees for the game were pulling for, and making calls in the favor of, sports team A. Of course they would win. It was fixed. So, the "win" really doesn't mean much, except in the eyes of those who are ignorantly unaware that it was fixed.

That said, I would like to see Trump and Harris debate again, but this time without moderators who are biased in favor of Harris. I know Trump said he wouldn't do another debate, but I'm hoping that's a negotiation tactic where, after the Harris team predictably calls Trump "scared" to debate again, he can come back with something like, "Okay, I'll debate again, but let's do it on Fox News" or some other conservative platform. Then it's her move. She can't claim that it wouldn't be fair after she got her way with the debate on ABC with him, so then she'd have to agree, or look like the "scared" one.

Then, we'll see if she gets pressed on answering that question you posed, or this one: If your values haven't changed, why do you claim your positions have changed? And when she tries to dodge, they ask again, and again, until she is either forced to answer it, or it becomes crystal clear that she is DODGING.

We don't have (or really need) a separate thread on the Kamala - Oprah interview.

MSNBC did a love-fest review of the Oprah interview and it backfired. Black woman/commentator Whitley Yates totally destroys the MSNBC narrative, live, on air.
