Thanks to everyone that posted all of the pictures. It made my life easier.

I gave the wrong date for the cookout, It's Saturday March 9th.

Looks like a great show with a ton of interesting machinery! You certainly had a great day for it!

Interestingly Saturday saw not one but TWO rare Lombard beasts in operation though several hundred miles apart!

While Loggah and his diesel Lombard were mixing it up with the snow machines,
over at the Maine forest & Logging museum in Bradley, we finished a much needed tune-up on the gas Lombard and of course had to take it out for a spin along with the new set of Lombard patent sleds.

The sleds were fabricated by the Farm Mechanic and Building Trades students at the Presque Isle Regional Career & Technical Center earlier this winter. After installing the bunks we were ready to play. (note: the bunks are upside down... and well..... we just wanted to play... easy enough fix!)

Since the Lombard is really good at pulling the sleds and not that great at pushing them backwards and having them go where they are supposed too, Lew and his beloved Cletrac provided a much needed assist. Lew is always willing to point out how useful the Cletrac is.

Herb wanted desperately to haul out the big two-man chainsaw and whack down one of the mighty pines so we could haul some logs. However, sanity prevailed and our old growth pines will live another day. When we gather up the sets of chains we need THEN we can use the chainsaw!

This particular Lombard dates from 1932 and was owned by Starbird Lumber in Strong, Maine. Starbird used it for plowing. Owned by the Breton family is graciously on loan to the museum.

We also have two steam Lombards - the museums No. 38 which we run during a number of living history events during the year and No. 74 which is owned by the Crooker family and is on long term loan.

Our plan is at some point to have a winter run with the steamer and the gasoline Lombard. As you can imagine the logistics in regards to the steamer are rather formidable and we are working up our courage to do it.

Anyway, all good fun!

Best regards,

Terry, WELCOME TO THE FORUM!

Terry,Did you unhook the Lombard before you pulled the sleds backward with the Cletrac ???? :thumbup:Now all you got to do is come up with some sort of trail groomer. Maybe put a big v-plow on the lombard,im sure paul still has the plowframe . Don

Thought I was getting up to see you tomorrow with the Tucker but have to stay south to attend some funeral services down here. Thanks for the invite and getting these events together!

I was able to sneak off yesterday on the single track up your way. Parked at exit 28 took 11 North Woodstock, Lincoln, Bethlehem, Twin Mountain to Fabyan Station. Then 102 across to Whitefield, 105 down to Dalton, on to 5S Littleton, Lisbon, Bath, Haverhill, Warren.

From Warren crossed into your system via the Mushroom Trail back to the parking lot.

I must say that I went through a lot of clubs and trail systems on the 160 mile loop and we experienced a 9 on scale of 1-10 for groomed trails overall.

Once we enter the Central New Hampshire system as always it is a treat and amazing how nicely the trails are groomed and maintained.

So big thank you for the thankless job of grooming and keeping the trails open for us. Other clubs do a good job but you have something a little more special there.

Brian

Well i was hoping trailbuilder would get a chance to reply!beside plowing and sanding, and maintaining 100 miles of snowmobile trails, and all the work with the show organizing the guys should be hibernating the rest of the winter !!!!!
There were around 40 old over the snow vehicles there, along with around 250 snowmobiles that showed up. It was a madhouse, the boyscouts sold out of every bit of food they had. At one time there were over 200 people inside eating.
There were model T and A ford snowmobiles, Bombardiers, Thiokols, Tuckers, and even a lowley Raidtrac. I will post a few pictureshopefully Dwayne will post the panoramic view. There was a photo drone their also that is going to edit a movie. Don

cool...I wonder how the movie is coming along../// no rest for the weiry….

thanks for finding and posting …. I don't use facebook…. got most of video, no volume.... did get a glimpse of the 'ol OO,.... thx again...

Those are the dates! Looking forward to it. More snow coming tomorrow and possibly more next week. Fingers crossed, always a great time!

……… D/N,.... cool.... the more people and Cats ….the better. each year grows. last year was great … a ton of sleds rode in. it was a sunny warm day. lots of rides given....good time had by all....

What's in the basket Boo Boo?? Thinking I may even be able to finally make it this year!

Sandwiches.. it was always sandwiches. But I think that they will have the same Boy Scout troop there with Lunch offerings, so no Picnic Baskets will need to be swiped.

Should be good temps & weather this weekend and even good coverage w/ the 6" that is supposed to drop today. What is the better day? (Stuff to do this weekend, so one or the other). The show & chit chat, or the trail ride?? Leaning toward trail ride if a seat's available.

Davenet, The show day is always fun, many cats and great people. Not everyone stays for the trail ride day. So you prefer to see more machines, or go for the ride? That only you can decide.

I moved the 420 and the 422 tuckers and tucker trailer up there the other day,my new to me cut down 2100 landed there last week ,and i guess were moving the lombard up on Thursday morning. Heres a few pictures of the 2100.

really nice looking machine Don,. I can't speak for the guyz that organize this great event.... great bunch of guyz. last year was the first year I brought a tucker to the show, always just went down for the days events to check out all the cool machines, great variety. Sat. was a sunny warm day....perfect. super turnout. Right, and by the sounds of the forecast... could be even a better turn out this year. the sunday parade, I have no idea if it's the same destination or not, anywhere is cool by me. but , it was down the trail to a local restaurant for lunch, chit-chat , and back to the shop. i'm hooked on doing both days,...and more ……:smile:
