My Main Coon cat, Amigo, was not feeling well the last couple of days. He was just not doing his normal routine. We kept a close eye on him and when he started breathing hard yesterday I took him to the emergency vet. One lung was completely filled with fluid and the other one was almost filled. They also saw nodules in his lungs which might be cancer. He was put on oxygen and they drained the fluid.
He's doing well so far today. The plan is to wean him off the oxygen and see how he does. They are thinking that I should be able to bring him home this afternoon. He'll be a lot happier here. Then we get to wait for the test results on the fluid that was in his lungs. If it is cancer there will be cells in the fluid.
At this time we're just taking it one step at a time. He's been part of the family for 14 years.
