Imp finally in her element

Hauled her to the cabin this weekend @3600 feet elevation, short video of heading up my driveway and being careful not to back into my friend’s Porsche Cayenne. Just praying for snow now!

Adding another video that could have been disastrous. Had the cat loaded securely at home but not quite forward enough on the trailer. When unloading on a slight incline it shifted the weight to the rear so that when I unhooked the tilt latches the whole thing self-unloaded without me on board. Go ahead and shake your heads in disgust…I did, then had to clean my drawers.

Nope, didn't come with a parking brake. Ordinarily I would be at the controls pulling back both steering levers, then easing off to coast backwards off the trailer until it tilts. This time I had her running in neutral warming up when I unlatched the trailer bed clamps, not expecting the cat to move until I got on board and put her in reverse to start the process.
Two issues: when I loaded it at home it was on level ground and the bed tilted forward and locked as it should. But...I needed to be maybe a foot further forward to put more weight on the tongue, she wanted to sway a bit when running down the road I found out later. When unloading I was on a very slight incline, just enough to shift the weight rearward and cause the bed to tilt when unlatching. Live and learn, all part of the process.
Parking brake?

Glad it turned out okay. I learned quick that once I found the sweet spot for the cat on the trailer, I made a mark on the rail of the trailer to line up with the cab. As long as I'm centered, I pull up to the mark and done.
What do you do If you stop on the hill, Shut it down?

I have since marked the trailer to load up a bit more forward. What I need to do is borrow my buddy's scale to measure the trailer tongue weight; things were a bit squirrely with the trailer wanting to whip around at anything over 50mph. Just didn't have the weight far enough forward.
So, on a hill and stopped: all a person can do is to stuff in the clutch and pull both steering levers to their stops, or shut her down in gear. Someday maybe I'll invest in a driveline brake system to retrofit but right now don't plan on any steep hill climbing, just plowing a little snow and otherwise cruising the flat lands for fun.
