Earlier this week I told the mods about my visit to the ER. Tightness / weird feeling in the chest. They found I had high blood pressure but no heart attack. Blood work and EKG were okay. They wanted to keep me for observation but I felt okay and didn't want to stay so I signed myself out AMA (against medical advise). Tonight I check my blood pressure and it was sky high. I felt fine but the BP was 190 over 87. Back to the hospital I go. Still some tightness in the chest, and high BP. They checked me out and again advised me to stay for observation and to figure out what the heck is going on. So ..... here I am in a hospital bed with my laptop fired up (my wife just shook her head when I packed up the laptop to bring along. LOL) It's therapy, right?

I'll be around as I can. Good thoughts and prayers appreciated.

Heal fast and start taking an aspirin each night before bed. Fish oil pills aren't bad for you either! Both will bring your BP down.

Course dealing with this motley crew don't help the BP either!

Don't worry Doc. I'm deleting forums\threads\posts as fast as I can.:whistling:

Seriously, get well. FF is in good hands. We look forward to updates as to how soon you'll be back on your Kubota, with that special laptop tray attachment ...

That is the scary part foggy. I'm already on BP meds and taking Omega 3 fish oil and asprin and still my BP is through the roof.

Take about 4000 MG of fish oil every day, just don't burp....

Been doing it for about thirty years, can tell when I don't take it. IF I cut my hand with the fish oil, my blood is bright red and bleeds freely for a bit. IF I quit taking it for a month or so and cut my hand, the blood is dark and clots very quickly....

Worst thing that can happen is that you may want to chase the wife around in the bath tub... against the shower stream...

Wow! Doc, take it easy.

We're all hoping you get out of there soon, with your numbers all back to normal.

My prescription for bp-reducing therapy is simple: skip the Debate forum for a while.

I hope you feel better soon.

Hey Doc, your BP is low by my un-treated standards. If that's any re-assurance to you.

Get some rest and de-stress. I found my BP goes up when I'm in a hospital. I hate all the attention and they love harping on me about my BP.

Try some new drugs. I'm on three drugs that seem to work pretty good together at low dosages but I don't get very good results on only one or two of them.

I've been on Atenolol since the early 90s.
Had to start taking it, because first of all, I was stressed out to the max in those days. My blood pressure shot through the roof after my Dad passed away--which is about the same time it was discovered I had a common benign heart condition ( I prefer to call it a syndrome).

The initial drug prescribed was a calcium channel blocker- Duh.

My blood pressure dropped so low, I passed out, and it was not the appropriate drug for my needs (elevated bp (from stress) and a previously undiagnosed floppy mitral valve).

I take 50 mg of the beta blocker daily. It's kept my pressure normal-low all these years. My heart doesn't do the flippity flop like it used to.
A mostly good diet and being active helps too.

Hang in there Buddy! Obamacare will fix you up in no time!:yum: It may take them a little while to figure out the best meds for your condition. I can relate to the pains being a worry. Be patient with yourself.

My best recommendation would be to retire and take up a worth while part time vocation working with the dirt which is very therapeutic , that with a little added treadmill work will bring the pressure right down.

Been where you are three times, and each time it was due to stress. If you have a very stressful job, consider making a career change like Red suggested, and spend more time with your honey on the boat.

BTW, no charge for the advice. Most of it isn't worth a shit anyway, just ask my wife.:yum:

See Doc...you know you should spend more time in the adult section of the forums. It really helps to relax a person and lower that blood pressure.

Take care of yourself and get better!!!

Thoughts & Prayers sent your way Doc . Hope it gets better for You soon .

If it makes you feel any better my BP hasnt been that low for quite awhile , But I dont take very good care of myself I recon & I dont do docters . My wife has to keep a close eye on hers & she,s all the time checking mine only makes me worry even more . Get well soon .

Thoughts and prayers Doc. Hope you get better soon. I blamed the computers when my BP was that high. Now I'm on Atenolol and an aspirin a day. Usually also take a Niacin pill a day.

"red, red wine......"

That helps. And if you do start drinking it, there's even one more reason to grope - drunk and delirious!

Hope they are good looking.........

Doc you are not the Doc at the moment so listen up good to them....rest rest and more rest...de-stress and take their advice.

You and your family are in my prayers just do as your told.

Get well soon so i can kick ya Butt with mindless posting.

Sending some Love.

Dean.

Get well buddy, will send you a prayer.
My problem was coffee. My commie doctor too it away years ago.
I told him (to myself) ha, I’ll drink tea, same problem.
I can’t handle caffeine, beer is fine.

By now they've probably already decided to change your b/p meds.
Feel better Doc.
Good call PG. That is exactly what it was and what they did. I did a stress test today. All is good with my heart. They've adjusted my BP meds, even added one that only cost me 60 cents for a 30 day supply that helps get rid of the sodium in my diet.
I was released from the hospital at 2:30 today. Already been to the drug store. They even let me walk out rather than ride in a wheel chair. :thumb:
All good for now. Thanks for the advice, good thoughts and prayers all. :thumb: :D

Hey Doc if you have questions about sodium just ask. Start taking the time to read labels and serving sizes as well as sodium levels. All the good tasting stuff is bad for you!:hammer: If you like fast food read up on the sodium in the big chains food and you will be amazed. Even some of the salads are worse than the burgers. Bill

No Wait!!! I want to get in on this ! I'm sending Prayers all the way from Panama ! Get well Buddy!!!!
