Ice Queen in America

I had a wonderful time and I can't wait to come back. Yes, I drove a Jag, it was very beautiful and it scared me every time I had to take it out in case I scratched it. I didn't, thankfully, it wasn't the car that scared me, but not knowing the traffic laws or where I was going and directions from the elderly car owner with his wife sitting in the back (not a back seat driver thankfully). I had just about got used to it and was starting to enjoy it when I had to return to the UK!

I was fascinated by the different plants I found in Florida, and was amazed by the banyan tree and its root system, the first photograph shows a banyan tree with what we would have as house plants (Mother-in-laws-tongue) growing round the base. The second another banyan tree and the third is another 'house plant' (swiss cheese plant) growing alongside and on it. Where I was staying they had a rubber plant in the garden, again we only have these as house plants.

Thank you IQ.....Great pictures and a great thread to read through with a lunchtime coffee.

Glad to know that I am not boring you all silly. Here are a couple more for coffee time - I can't remember the name of the town, but it was only a couple of miles down the road from where I stayed (senility setting in!) The first picture shows a small area outside a shop, I thought it so pretty, the second picture is one of the streets and the third I think is Mote marine and one of the fish tanks. I took several pictures in there, but the fish would not keep still!

Well driving a Jag would explain why you didn't get out far enough to see stuff like this down the road from us. We cross over it a couple of times driving thru town.

It wasn't driving the Jag that was the problem, the owner was very elderly and it was not possible to go to far as he and his wife are very frail and it would have been too much for them. I would have loved to have been able to go further and also to go out in the evenings, but it wasn't practical - never mind, I still had a super time.
