Bill are you the author-right-tease :yum: You know you did own the FBI rig for awhile .... I wonder who you really are? lets see lives quietly in the mountains store his cash under the stump be hind the shed. Cooper is not a unfamiliar name to him heard he jumped from planes before.......hum-mm......... :yum:

I think the rightful new owner must report it stolen not the messenger.:coolshade I wonder who that might be? :pat: If I had enough money as you indicate then I would not be the messenger,:poke: but the owner.:smileywac

Bulldog 1401 Do not be so hard on Kristi owners, We all know that they touch snow in the winter, when the snow builds up on top of them.

so what was the guys name that built it?and what was it built on?

Well as far as I know it was built in Evergreen Colorado And the company that built them may have been related to rattcliffe Companies is not here yet in the next few Days It loaded yesterday in Kersey, Colorado it does run
and does very well I understand in the powder snow it has a manual and parts blow-up 90 some HP Subaru Engine dual hydro pumps steering wheel control. but it has an issue with some thing when it turns left it surges not sure what it is until we do some tests Has Sai brand Motors at the sprockets
they are very expensive. but do have a set available. If they are the same and needed.

I am including some photos of another machine that I believe was produced
by the same company Rattcliffe also hydro with individual wheel motors
and tracks for winter about the same HP.

We will get some more photos when it arrives and info. :thumb:

OK here is what i know they were built in colorado in evergreen just off of I70 at floyd hill. the machine was built off a hustler chassis witch is a 6 wheel unit like the Argo they use a plastic tire guide track section witch has a steel pin to connect the links witch seam to fail when used in cold temps they built a few machine and sold to the FAA most of the machines failed to work for various reasons but most of the problems were track related.the oners name was Clay Radcliff

The FAA Sued Ratclif, resulting in a new federal statute that requires that anything purchased by the government be tried and proven for at least 8 years. The Tracks on these were made of a plastic plate with stainsell steel wire pins. In the cold they would break. The one of these machines in our area, had a Subaru flat 4 engine, and never successuflly made it to it's intended location, a state police radio tower. It continuously broke tracks. Eventually the state abandon trying to repair it and traded it for one or two Alpines, the big truck like snow mobiles. One of the members of this forum, not me, was the 'Witness for the Prosecution'(Uncle Sam), and knows about the suit first hand.

The body on that thing I recognize as belonging to an Attex (see pic). It's an interesting idea they had, too bad the tracks let them down. It's interesting that they decided to use an external undercarriage as opposed to just hydraulically retrofitting the existing axles and drive system. I've got an Argo 8x8 with the tracks and it does fine in the snow....up to a point. Because of the poor ground clearance, the flat bathtub of a bottom will eventually float if the snow is very deep and soft, and the tracks will sit there and spin to the point that even backing up in your own tracks is difficult. I can imagine that dropping the axles down another 6-8 inches would help tremendously. I guess they also widened the footprint to allow widened tracks, which look just like the standard Attex tracks with 2 flanking belts and cleats added. Maybe I'll have to experiment with the Argo....

I believe it's a Radcliff (not sure of the spelling). A neighbor down the road has one. Will gladly give it away. I never seen his actually run, only towed from point to point.
