One has to wonder who is responcible for the programming that creates this message. Also we have to wonder what their intensions are for putting it there. It maybe personal for that said programmer. Or it maybe a belief from some cult of people and the programmer is of that ilk. Or a joke to get rumors started for some perverse sence of hummor. Not funny though....

I hear it ties to an Asian holiday or tradition called the "Ghost Festival" or "Ghost Day" and in that tradition ghosts from the lower realm can come back to earth.

I'm guessing some Asian programmer stuck it in there.
 
Well, we survived Y2K ... and 9/11/01 ... and 12/21/12. So I guess we'll manage to survive 07/27/14.
