Farmers and carbon sequestering

I read an acre of planted corn sequesters 36,000 pounds of CO2.
1) I thought farming was a bad thing to be.
2) Do farmers get paid for sequestering all this CO2?
Or (3) Farming is bad since the green quacks won't make any money on natural CO2 sequestering, and don't deserve money for doing something natural, which offsets profitable mechanical "needs".
Or finally (4) It's all puking bullshit.

It's number 4.

CO2 is hardly the toxic gas touted by the fear mongers. It is quite literally, the main building block structure of life as we know it.

The more available CO2 in the atmosphere, the greener the planet. That is not hyperbole but a scientific fact.
At one point in the history of our planet, CO2 level approached 0.035 percent. That ice age event was considered by scientist to be 0.01 percent short of total elimination of life on the planet. Normal CO2 is about 0.042.
