Engine mounts for a 1984 Tucker 1342

Does anyone know the correct engine mounts for the subject Tucker. It has a Chrysler LH 318 industrial engine and a 5speed manual. The mounts on it now look like someone had stacked a couple of sections of track belts on top of each other. They look very home made. I would like to do something to bring it closer to being correct. I suspect Tucker repurposed Dodge engine mounts but that is just a guess.

My 1965 442a used to have a 318 in it..... but I'm not certain if THAT engine was original. NOW, it has a 1980-ish 250cu-in Chevy straight-six. The ski resort that used to own it might have put the 318 in it. When they sold it, I'm sure that the person who bought it only wanted the engine, and scrapped the carcass..... only for someone to salvage it and put the chevy engine in it.

The frame has been cut and welded so many times it looks like Frankenstein. I'm going to build a whole new frame, this summer..... I might be in the same boat as you, trying to figure out motor mounts.

Yes my 84 has what looks like a piece of track belt with a hole through it for the bolt nothing fancy.

Mine has the same thing. I assumed it was a make-do repair from a previous owner. I might have assumed wrong. I probably should call Tucker and verify.

I am trying to get things sorted out one issue at a time.

Thanks a lot for the help. Once again I probably assumed wrong.

I've not owned a 1984 Tucker. I've had a 1979, three 1980 models, and a 1986. The 1986 had a Chrysler 360 Industrial, and the other four had 318 Industrial engines.

But every single Tucker used the same system for mounting the engine. They have a casting that bolts to the front of the engine, and it has a single bolt (oriented vertically) that attaches to a pad on the frame. Pics are helpful.

If you look at the front of the engine below the harmonic balancer and pulleys, you can see that casting I mentioned. This is a 318 engine.

Here's a pic of the 360 engine (note the counterweight on the harmonic balancer. 360s are externally balanced) You can see that casting has been unbolted from the engine, and it's still attached to the Tucker truss frame.

And here's a pic of the frame where that casting attaches to.

You can see a frame weldment offset to the left side of frame's longitudinal centerline (right side in the photo) with a single hole in it. That's where that casting attaches
