Actually Junk, THIS is THE MOST ACTIVE snowcat forum on the internet. And it is proof that these forums are valid and not a competitor to TBN. The folks at TBN seem to be more worried about us than we are about them.
Proof that we are viable is that there are several SNOWCAT forums out there, most get less than 1 new post each day. Each is much older than our place here. Some get a post or two each week. Some go for months without a post. Our site here is about 70% Snow Trac owners, 30% Kristi/LMC-Thiokol owners and on a bad day gets a handful of posts, on a good day gets dozens. We also regularly have a few registered snowcat owners on the forum at any given time and several members have migrated to the general forums too.
One thing we DON'T have here is a good way to index our topics and pages. It would be nice to have a Snow Trac homepage that I could edit and provide hotlinks to the forum threads, but it would also provide a place to upload the brochures, manuals, etc. Doc was very good to me and gave me an intro page, but it is difficult for me to edit. I think I need to learn more about HTML code.
There is a good discussion site dedicted to "snow groomers" but that is really dominated by people who groom snowmobile trails with specialized snowcats. Even that site, as good as it is, gets less than 1/2 the number of posts and new threads as we see here. The folks at that site are nice folks, but I get the impression they tolerate 'recreational' snowcat owners and that we are actually intruding in their 'grooming' forum. I visit the site daily, its a good site, but no question that I am an 'outsider' there.
