Doing a Bob thingy?

Mrs Zoom (and the kids) all left town to visit her family for the next few days. I honestly don't know how long they're going to be gone.

I've been surfing to figure out what I should get in their absence (like what Bob does).

I'm bidding on ATV's on e-bay
Buying winter clothes
Looking at accessories for my machines (Bob - if you don't sell those PIAA lights in the next couple days, let me know).
...

So, any thoughts/recommendations? What would you get? There's nothing I can think of that I really need (except GFCI's).

First, you started too late, you should have had it all figured out before they left so you could play with it the whole time they were gone. But as this is your first try, you can be forgiven for that transgression.

Now the whole point of this is to buy what you don't need, in fact what nobody needs, or to buy a big ticket item that you do absolutely need but want to be a surprise for Mrs-Zoom.

I've bought both types, I bought the little Ventrac Tractor for the lovley Mrs_B when she was gone, that is the NEEDED to buy type item. I bought a Oliver tractor, a couple guns, the Snow Trac, my Avanti convertible and countless small things this same way and its hard to say I really 'needed' any of those things.

So if you have nothing you NEED. . . then you really need to go off the deep end any buy something crazy fun! I know where there is a Tucker Snow Cat for sale!!!

Murph,

Suzuki 500 Quadrunner(s). I sold mine last year although it was my favorite.

Bob,

Yea, I screwed up. I actually wasn't sure if (or when) she was leaving.

I really need to avoid things that take up a lot of floor space (vehicles and such) since I still need to part with other things to make space.

I've probably dropped almost a grand on outdoor clothes so far but that's just not "fun" stuff.

If DZ was passing through this week with that Kimber, that may have been an option.

There is a warning in not knowing how long their going to be gone!!

" (like what Bob does)" This presents itself as the second Warning Brian!!

My office will remain open for events just as this!!

Now, I'm not sure about what Bob would do, but while the Mrs. is gone, why not get in shape, especially in your thigh areas:
This is for your THIGHS
And here is the bonus: When your wife returns, she can use it too!
Bonehead

A bit late as I realize now (and Bob pointed out).

I should have ordered myself a set of Westin grill/brush guards, nerf bars and Bob's PIAA lights. That would have given me something to tinker with for the next couple evenings. BTW - is there a brand anyone would recommend over the Westin's?

Dean - that's only 2 strikes... I'm still in my safe zone. Mrs. Zoom drove and has a tendency to give me an hourly update on her travel progress so I'd have about 5 hours to clean-up if/as necessary.

Bonehead,

Yep, a few days with her would either kill me or get me in shape. :D 20 years ago would have been better.
I don't think Mrs. Zoom is into that kind of thing. :o

BC,

What part of the country are you from again?? Guys, how a bout a party??

murph
I'm in!! Oh... I guess I would be, wouldn't I?

Bonehead says we need a few hours to clean up the puke. You better come soon.

I'm in W. PA. Doc, TOMLESCO, PineRidge, Big Dog and a couple others can probably be here within 1-4 hours. It may take you (murph) a bit longer.

The third arrives on the heals of not cluing in to the first two!

Not knowing when one will return tends to understate the reason for the leaving in the first instance! Does it not??:pat:

Dean

Perhaps I have an altruistic memory of a similar event!!

I guess I would be the designated driver. Is the party still on? :drive2:

Bonehead,
Of course it's still on. It'll start when you get here. I guess I should have considered this earlier. You better get started. It's real simple. Drive 2,400 miles East on I-90. A couple quick turns (another 100 miles) and you're here.

See 'ya soon! :yum:

Probably more out of curiousity. I do a lot of wheeling so was wondering what your looking for. I have a Polaris Sportsmen 700 that I was thinking of selling. I have not gone out in about a year now. My dauther is the only one that uses the wheeler any more and I think she would kill me if I did sell.

Some pic's of our adventures.

Murph,

Ahhh, if you're trying to sell, you shouldn't include some of those pics. I would remove all where the water is up to the handle bars and the whole section titled "mishaps".
Actually, I bought (then quickly sold) a Kaw Prairie 700 last year. Too damn fast for my needs. Christmas eve a year ago I hit the throttle and it stood up and went over on me. The bad part was my daughter was on the back. It wasn't pretty. The ATV went to the building for the evening then directly out for sale. A utility ATV doesn't need to be able to do that, nor do 70MPH.

Here's a pic of the 500 Suzuki I sold.

That is why I like the mud, much slower pace even though we have one guy that likes to ride on the back wheels all the time. He's the big guy when you clck on wheeling. What do you think of the bus?

murph

Very cool conversion of the bus.

No pics of the interior??? Is it just seating or did you set up for camping and such?

Brian, if you can't take up "much floor space" then you have a few options in the Bob school of methodology for when the wife is out of town. Option 1 - accessorize or upgrade a current vehicle or tractor. Option 2 - buy guns! Option 3 - Tools! Option 4 - Implements!

Just some thoughts. But if murph and Bonehead are diving over, they can pick me up on the way. From my past trips to SW PA it is about 7.5 hours (not at the speed limit) from where I am located. If you are NW PA then that might shave some time off the trip.

Hey Bob,

If you're coming as well, how about we do a little side trip and jump over into W. NY and pick up a couple of Darin's mini-trucks. My offer still stands if you want me to pick one up for you and bring it to my place (which is closer to you). My Dad lives about 20 miles from him. One of these times when I visit my Dad, I'm probably going to take $5K with me and pick one up.

Interior was stripped and deluxe seats from a touring bus put back in. DVD player, TV also installed. We are still looking for a good price on a Coleman A/C though.

There is some pictures of the inside, look at top right corner and you will see 5 pages.

I'm leaning towards option 1. Except a FEL mounted snow blower, I'm set with options 2-4.

Looking at the FF member map if Bonehead gets a bus, along the way he could pick up (in sequence):
Murph
Av8r
DaveNay
Bob S
WayBomb (bring your boat :thumb: )
Wannafish
JohnDay
JayC
TomLesco
(and more... sorry, the dots are getting too close)

Hey Zoomer........I have a 2003 arctic cat 400 4x4 that I bought new that has 100 or so miles on it .......I'll bring it to the party if you speak $$ in a PM beforehand ?? ( Note The "Cash before Beer" rule applies here)

Tom,

Wanna trade for some shelving?

Does the '03 400 run a Suzuki engine or a AC engine? (the earlier AC's ran Suzuki engines).

Except a FEL mounted snow blower, I'm set with options 2-4. I have a 84'' 3PH snowblower you can have for $750.................

I'm game... Want to discuss here, via PM or through the classifieds section? We never finished the shelving discussion.
