I owe a lot to my wife for insisting we buy our first house with a pool in th eback yard.

If it wasn't for that pool, we might have kept that place and never bought the farm.

10,000 gallon baby sitter. The NEIGHBORS kids at that. My kids had to help take care of the pool if they intended to use it. That kept them out of the water. It was a happy day when it was history. I LOVED the house. I loathed the pool. (I actually liked it at first. That wore off in less than a week)

Your results may vary.

Okay, since this post started I watched the time I actually spent cleaning the pool, backwashing the filter, and keeping the water chemicals just right. The time spent? Right at 1/2 an hour per week.

My water is always perfectly clear and the bottom and sides clean. Maybe I don't appreciate how much the robot pool cleaner saves in time. I just flat don't get it when 1/2 an hour a week is too much trouble. Maybe having a Dolphin robot should be mandatory for having a pool if you don't want to hire out the pool upkeep.
