Cashless society

A message from a friend -
"I got stuck in South Carolina this past weekend. I have news for y’all - a cashless society will fall apart instantly without electricity.
It gets very weird and very scary very quickly.

My hotel couldn’t give me a room.
They couldn’t even make keys or check the reservation I made online.

At the exact time when people needed them the most everything shut down.

I will never leave town without cash.
I have a new respect for preppers. They aren’t crazy they are prepared. I will also fight this whole "cashless" thing to the end - if this doesn't prove how silly it is nothing will.

We’re already at the point that everything is so dependent on the internet and computers that everything instantly shuts down as soon as there’s a glitch. Earlier this summer the local Co-op got hacked, for a couple months the grocery store was stocked with the bare minimum because they couldn’t even put in an order to the warehouse and the fuel card lock was down for awhile costing them millions. If this had happened in the spring and farmers couldn’t get their fuel and fertilizer it would have been devastating. This country won’t be taken over by an army, it’ll be by a bunch of scrawny pale basement dwellers. Cash is king and always will be no matter how much some will resist that.

Credit cards are convenient and handy. paying for fuel at the pump. Yes
Grocery shopping before my paycheck was in the bank? Yes!

However, I have lost count of the number of times recently, when my card was useless. Mostly because the system was down.


Cashless Society???
NEVER.
